    Hi

Do you know which credit reference agency Aqua used when you applied?

This info would be useful to put on the CRA thread.

    Many thanks

    Bizarre isn't it!

Barclaycard won't take me, but Aqua will.

I always thought Barclaycard Initial was the hardest to get too.... so maybe you're no risk for Aqua which is why they don't want you :D

That's just what I thought about the Barclaycard being the hardest to get. I nearly fell off my chair when it said I was accepted!! The card arrived yesterday and have set up a balance transfer to my Vanquis card with a 6.9% rate until the balance is paid off which is a better deal than I thought I was going to get!
I would still say my credit report shows me as a risk. I have one more year until my defults and IVA fall off the report.
I did notice on Equifax report the reporting of the defualts stop at June 2006. However on Call Credit it keeps being shown as reported each month from then until now, not sure if that's why Aqua declined. All very Bizarre!!

When applying for Capital one classic. It asks what the card will be used for, and another question asks rate my own credit rating....my rating is bad. So should I just be honest? Also I dont know which method would go better on an application, balance transfer etc?

    I didn't answer those questions - they aren't mandatory.

Just got back from holiday... logged into Halifax online banking and I have a Standard Mastercard... Credit Limit £1,350 :eek:

Was very shocked at that!! Also Capital One haven't replied to my letter (yet) but in my account I can see my limit has been raised to £350 (from £200 before I requested an increase under the DPA). They used to authorization I gave them to search with Equifax (no idea if it was full or soft, it doesn't tell me and I can't order another full report until xmas). May have also searched others, I'm not sure.

Problem is I don't know what to close now, having Aqua, Cap1, Halifax, Natwest and Sygma is clearly too many, thought Halifax would offer me some kind of swap deal with the Aqua card but Aqua still works...

Aqua given me a good limit (1k), Halifax obviously keeping... Cap1 have just increased me but it's joint 2nd lowest with Natwest... Sygma being the lowest with only £200 - but they were said to be the creme de la creme of (sub-prime/prime borderline) credit cards, so slightly confused about what to do with them - they don't seem to like me!

Also surprised Halifax gave me a card if they search Experian, I was 100% sure Experian had messed around with my credit file because of my dispute with them over my ID, but apparently not!

Well i applied for the capital one classic account last wednesday i phoned today and was told further checks needed to be made so i need to send in proofs. So i'm sending in a copy of my passport and a recent bank statment. After that if all is correct they will send me an agreement to sign. Sounds like this may take awhile. It is my first credit card in nearly 8 years and i've only just opened up my bank acccount. It might have been wiser to have waited alittle before applying but i could do with an offline credit card my debit card is the blue current account plus. Is the fact that they are wanting proofs a good sign ?

Same boat as you I sent in the ID and got a letter saying I'd been accepted and I needed to sign the agreement, phoned up just now and they got the agreement but said a final decision needed to be made..

Can I advise you that it would be best to sign for PPI as this will make them more likely to accept you it would seem. If you don't want it you could always cancel it when you get the card and pin.
