I'm sorry to spit on your fire but if your certificate from Vanquis is going to be gold, it will be worth just as much as your precious gold Vanquis card. Did you like their APR increase when you received the gold card? Prestige at its finest. Hey, at least you can compare your certificate with your fellow claimants at the Job Centre.

Why wait for your AMEX card? Google an image of the card, print it and pop it in your wallet. Who cares if it won't work, atleast you can pretend to yourself and others that your life hasn't been completely wasted. Although I'd be careful if I were you about flashing it at the Job Centre, they may start asking questions. This may be your only way of getting an AMEX in your wallet as all of your hard work with Vanquis will only result in a default.

WOW your insights are amazingggggggggg they really are, OK lets answer some of your truly outstanding points for you :)

I dont have a gold Vanquis nope not me just your normal every day vanquis card no gold here :)

Again job centre, fellow claimants something I am not familiar with you sound like you have some experience in this though any advice? I did not know I could compare meaningless pieces of paper and plastic there I though you could only do that in this thread dohhhhhhhh silly me sounds like fun, which is the best job centre to goto in your opinion? Presumably 1 not to far away from the council estate where "you can have needles hanginf out of your arm" sounds great we should meet there sometime :)

Your Amex idea is a good one then I could black out the sensitive information and put a pic in this thread, I could be truly like you are you student mates then wipeeeeeeeeeeeee Im off to do it now :)

You wont need to hang around here much longer now will you, with getting the first direct certificae in the post you can leave you embarrasing sub prime days behind and go and bask in the sunshine in some of the prime threads comparing APR and credit limits, ooooooooooooooo your so lucky I am sooooooooooooo envious, maybe if I too apply often enough they may one day give me access to another certificate what was your system once a week or once a day???

Oh well back to the scum for me :( Must be nice being able to look down upon us unsociables, I do hope one day someone gives me a soapbox to then I can take great delight in standing head and shoulders above everyone else just like you and the other "first direct wannabe's" in this thread.

Of course I am jealous and completely green with envy of your tesco clubcard credit card wow I hope one day I too have such a huge credit limit and the honour of a tesco card as wel wipheeeeeeeeee I can only dream :(

As much as I have enjoyed chatting I must go now and perform some menial tasks that I wont bore you with the details about, I will leave you to discuss your credit limits and APRs and tactics with the other first direct wannabe students, oh I wish my life was like yours :(

    Have fun now :)

Where can I find £600,000? I viewed the most amazing house today and I would very much like to own it. Which bank would be easiest to rob? :rotfl: I had considered withdrawing from my cards, OD's etc and do a runner but I may be a few pound short.

Hi guys, sorry I have returned in a while been busy rebuilding my life.
Anyway, just a quick update; all of my debt apart from a couple of credit cards which I am keeping sweet is on Pay Plan debt management program, CRA status updates are coming in thick and fast, credit rating is destroyed but hopefully in 6 years time my credit status should be restored.

A lesson learned from my recent financial mishaps; never borrow money for an extended period of time, no job is secure these days.

Anyway, moving on how are you all keeping? Well I hope; anything to report? Any success in moving away from sub prime credit?

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
  • Well I am sorry to see you back from a financial point of view obviously ..... but from a thread point of view, welcome back :)

As the sub-prime thread was always "your baby" maybe now it can get back to how it used to be :)

Just out of interest .... which couple of cards have you decided to keep ?

Well it was my baby and will always have my fingers in the pie so to speak, it has been constructed with valuable input from many MSE posters seeking/providing advice over the years.

Ok well I have kept my Natwest and Ulster bank cards but no doubt once the CRA insight feeds post my status to the banks then I am sure they will cut the limits and/or take the card off me but we shall have to wait and see over time.

Six years really isn't that long and your situation could actually be a blessing in disguise. At the end of it, you'll be better off than you were with any sort of debt.

You weren't to know you were going to loose your job when you were taking on your debt. I wouldn't call this a mishap, but rather an experience that many people will have to face at least once in their life.

Do you know where all the other old regulars went ? Or did they make it to prime and leave ?

Why those one's ? higher limits, better interest rates ?

I think most people in life take things for granted. Whether it be credit, jobs or just life in general. I dont think anyone realises what a nightmare life will become until it happens and then you get the "oh sh*t" moment ;)

I always think of my job as secure, as ive been here nearly 15 years and there is only me and the two owners. BUT ..... I am fully aware that when they come to retire, then I wont have a job anymore and will probably be too old by then to retrain, or get a new job elsewhere.

My other half - where we worked went bust in the summer, literally with no notice owing us a lot of money. It was just a shock and although we lost the majority of that money, he was lucky that he managed to get another job within a month earning more money, so we were fine .... but it could not have ended so well :\

I was trying to explain to some of these "people" on here the other day - that sometimes through no real fault of your own, people end up in these situation. While i accept all responsbility for my debts (as it appears you do), it doesnt mean someone is at fault for the situation :)

Anyway .... as I am at work, I guess i had better get on and do something to prove I am worth employing lol

Ah Pro, sorry to hear this... on the bright side at least you know how it all works and how to move on! :)

We have all been there, or we would be here lol.As you well know (with it being your baby lol) you are mostly in good company :)

Re success... i got accpeted for a sygma silver a few months ago and I was offered a halifax card on my online offers, i applied not expecting to get accepted, anyway they rang me re the BTs so i assume all is well with that! Quite shocked TBH but i have been with them 10 years now, so about time they offered me something. lol
  • You know when you get the ' we need to perform further checks' page when you apply - is this a precursor to a big fat no? And how long should I leave it before checking?

    Thanks
