Thanks, it's not there now and I can't refresh, I've just got to see if I get an Alert (it's that Cap1 free thing so I don't get the full report without paying). They only seem to go out weekly though, but not sure if they'll send another one if there is more than 1 change. Hopefully it picks up a new account and send an alert out
no they only send one a week ie on fridaysilver limit £1000 jjb limit £2500 -
That was probably me. I was expecting a decline when I applied (same with Sygma recently!) but got it
I had Cap1 in November 2009 (after 5/6 months with Natpest and their Student Card), think I got Aqua in ~April 2010, not 100% on the date.... I then got (well it still hasn't arrived....) Sygma (JJB Sports) card last week
I'm applying for Prime now but being declined, just thought I'd take a chance! I got Halifax Reward Current account, so kind've prime, I was being declined for them... I'm waiting until Feb (6 months) to apply for more prime stuff, when the searches will have been deleted and I'd have about 6 over the year.... then I wait another 6 months and play the same game
Thanks, yea I don't use mine (haven't activated it) but just use that as a kind've marker to see (mines currently £100 maximum, so when it goes up I'd be improving internally). Will be interesting to see what limit you get
It depends on the balance, but if you were over by something like 10p it is a stupidly high amount yep
Hi Zack1 - I agree, it is useful to know you have a better credit rating but then not use the credit too much. I think I have finally, after nearly five years, improved my rating and I am flabbergasted - I phoned Halifax today and have been told my credit limit will be £2,900 ! I was expecting about £500 but I guess it shows that they do look at your current situation and recent years' efforts to repay, rather than saying a blanket "NO" to anyone who has encountered problems in the more distant past. I can now close the Vanquis and the Capital One. In addition a credit union is going to lend me £500 so I won't even keep much of a balance, if any on the Halifax card! I thought I was getting nowhere for so long so I'm determined to keep on the straight and narrow in the future and continue with my slightly frugal lifestyle:A. I'm used to it now anyway.0 -
Hi,
I applied for creation card last week, already have Flybe but want a 0% on BT as working to clear all mine and hubby's debts. Got referred to the underwritters and heared back today I have been excepted. Rang to check credit limit and have £2k
I have about £1200 on other CC's but the rest is on Flybe... would it be worth while tranferring my other CC's to creation then split the flybe card at 25.9% to the other lower apr CC's in order to also transfer some of the balance to the creation? or would the 2 lots of BT fees cost out any of the 0% benefits?
hope that makes sense!

I usually get mine Sunday though, thought it was strange getting it today. Ah well, hopefully I'll get the card in the post at the start of next week and won't need to check!
I just realised that during the post screw-up I technically should've told Halifax I didn't have my card, apparently if you don't get your card and PIN in 8 days you should tell them.... I totally forgot about it! Card looks quite nice though!0 -

I'd like to apply for a credit card to try and build myself a credit file. I had trouble with money in the past, currently only have a provident loan (my 3rd loan, paid 2 off in full and up to date with 3rd one)
I previously had a barclaycard which I defaulted on many years ago so obviously can't go to them. None of my previous credit problems show on my file which I checked a few months ago.
I currently have a current account with visa debit from santander (which they let me update after having a basic account for years, account in good order no overdraft on it)
I also have a £10 a month phone contract from Tesco which I was surprised to get, had it for 4 months or so.
Been turned down by Next and Very catalogue in the past year or so.
I pay things like bt phone bill monthly direct debit and not in arrears on any utilities, I'm on the electoral role.
I'm a council tenant, work part time and claim tax credits and disability living allowance, income not brilliant but enough to live on with a little left over.
Any idea where my best bet is for getting accepted for a credit card?0 -
Any idea why your flybe card has an apr of 25.9%
I've had it about 2years and interest has increased a few times over this time started at 19.9%. credit rating not bad no defaults or lates, always paid above the min payment but never the full £3k, have moved 3 times in the last 6 years though and only left uni 12months ago.
why does the APR make a difference to the BT i want to make to the 0% creation card?0 -
I applied for Barclaycard and Sygma Silver ten days ago, approved for Barclaycard initial (£800 limit with 6.9% balance transfer offer) but have heard nothing at all from Sygma.
Is that a good or bad sign?0
