I opened my Reward account, which is the first account I've had with Halifax (apart from a previous defaulted and repaid credit card!) two years ago. I opened the account because despite paying in a regular salary of 25k to Nationwide, I was refused a debit card and was stuck with a cashcard and cheque book only. They also refused me in the branch in the open and stated that it was due to my poor credit rating! I argued that I had paid my salary in to them for two years, and they wouldn't give me a debit card so I was going elsewhere. Halifax have been much better, the Reward account is great for me. Overdraft limit £250 but £1 a day charge for this, so I don't use it much.
Best of luck with your application.
£1 a day don't that work out about 100% apr..0 -

I notied someone early had applied for a Acqua card not long after a Cap 1 and was accepted. How long should I leave it for applying for a Prime Card? The same?
Just so happy to be back on the right roadI had Cap1 in November 2009 (after 5/6 months with Natpest and their Student Card), think I got Aqua in ~April 2010, not 100% on the date.... I then got (well it still hasn't arrived....) Sygma (JJB Sports) card last week
I'm applying for Prime now but being declined, just thought I'd take a chance! I got Halifax Reward Current account, so kind've prime, I was being declined for them... I'm waiting until Feb (6 months) to apply for more prime stuff, when the searches will have been deleted and I'd have about 6 over the year.... then I wait another 6 months and play the same game

Re: Aqua - the minimum is £250 but on the reverse of the page you sign there should be a string of numbers and letters under a "do not mark below this line" line. Perhaps they've changed it? Last time I saw one (just last month - my friend got one) the string started 750 and he had a 750 limit.
Typical starting limits range from £250 to £1,000. They aren't steadfast to starting people at the lowest level like Capital One and Vanquis.
Whatever it is, well done
Yep, I had £250 which I assumed was the minimum.... They like me enough to take me, and want the merchant fees & possible interest etc, but don't want to take potentially a massive hit, for the time being. Makes sense, if only more companies did that, rather than Capital One Increase and Natpest.
And about my above post, Aqua was 28th AprilIncrease time in the middle of November.... I'm playing it safe and waiting for that statement to clear before asking, although I think it's possibly October (I seem to have had a statement for 1 day, but thought I better exclude that from my calculations!!)

Evening all, Its been a while since i was last on. Been sitting at home for last 7 weeks awaiting on my visa for brazil.
My visa is now through and am flying to Rio on sataurday
Had a problem with A+L Bank, They gave me my bank details ie sortcode and IBAN Number etc for the new company to pay my wages etc. The company have been trying for 17 days to pay me wages but it hasnt been working and i wasnt sure the problem was.
So i checked my details and noticed with the change over they have changed my Sortcode and IBAN Number without any notice and also means all my cheque books are invalid now. Not a happy camper about them. Decided to move banks now
Whats been happening on here then?0 -

Good move getting away from Santander, you'll be much happier on the other side (as long as that other side isn't Barclays)
What's been going on here? I've been letting Lloyds TSB drive me barmy so have decided not to listen to anything they tell me let alone share what they tell me on here
Starting full time hours on Monday which is greatJust met the Conservative Concillor for the local area (his PC broke...). I never noticed how plush the chambers are in county hall and I work here !!!!!!. Lol.
Other than that, just maintaining the status quo. You?Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Well, I had applied for a Capital One card last week, and didn't think I stood a chance. I applied for an Acqua this week, and got the "We will contact you in 7 to 10 days message". I got the agreement yesterday saying I had been approved. Couldn't believe it.0
