You went bankrupt at the young age of 23 i thought you would try warn other people on the other site not to make the same mistakes as you..
And maybe put your knowledge of this to good use thats all mate..

I'm not that stupid, you're posting sarcastic comments because for whatever reason you're not happy with me posting here. Like in my Barclaycard thread chipping in with counter-advice and ending up stating after half a dozen replies "actually I don't know anything about mortgages" as if to say "Ha yeah just been wasting your time iZools, ner ner ner"

Why would i after 6 months suddenly have trouble with you posting, you are the one who got the neck on when i said about barclays and the AP,i just thought it was hard to believe that your mother had an arrangement to pay with barclays in other words could not keep to the terms & conditions suddenly after years end up with the best APR out there while still on benefits..(if she still is)

This is not me having a go.

I've just had an alert from Equifax, searches from Sygma and Creation have been added to my report on 13th Aug, no new account data though... and I still don't have the card.... Think they might've played Vanquis' game and declined me afterwards but haven't got round to telling me yet

Also, lol @ Royal Mail. They haven't really delivered to our halls properly for about 3 weeks, no idea why. I've got bits and bobs, but yesterday I got about 20 letters through (literally, I was like what is this stack of mail on the table and it was all mine!), including an Aqua statement from 28th July!! Most of it had a "unable to deliver" sticker on but the reason wasn't ticked, weirdos!

OK well perhaps I'm misconstruing your posts in which case I apologise. I'm obviously reading between lines that aren't even there :p

Closed accounts are immune from APR increases. 13.9% is the rate that was on the account when she closed it in 2003. Yes, they gave a platinum card with a £8,100 limit to a single mother on benefits! Although she has held the account for 39 years ;)

RE: Sygma - they take a long time to send cards out and if the account is showing as added to your EQ file you've DEFINITELY got it. If you refresh the report tomorrow or monday the account should show :o

Are you sure your equifax file is showing the correct data? It's very odd that you aren't seeing either the HSBC or Sygma searches.

Is your address in a format hard to enter on the Sygma application form? I.e. do you live in a flat?

And yes Sygma do not provide accounts to customers not on the ER.

I do live in a flat but HSBC did search my experian, why not equifax? They didn't even ask me for ID (remember, I am not on the roll), just wanted my sample signature.

Perhaps they use Equifax as a fallback if customers' Experian file is patchy / incomplete / whatever? Seems to make sense as they searched EQ for both my friend and I but we both have adverse credit history.

RE: The flat number on a Sygma account application form needs to be entered in the same line without punctuation as the house number.

So if you're Fat 7, 10 Thingy Road,

You'd enter it as "7 10 Thingy Road"

I have no adverse so that could be the reason they didn't search Equifax.

The issue with my flat is that it is not just a number, but 4 complete words and I have never found an online application form where it can be written completely.

Ah OK sounds like Sygma insta-declined you as they searched an address that doesn't technically exist and brought up a null file.

Might be worth calling them once you're on the electoral role to do an application over the phone - so you can explain the address format. Either that or apply for an HSBC card in Feb; they should set your pre-approved limits for cards and loans and such once you've used the account as your main account for six months :o

Thanks, it's not there now and I can't refresh, I've just got to see if I get an Alert (it's that Cap1 free thing so I don't get the full report without paying). They only seem to go out weekly though, but not sure if they'll send another one if there is more than 1 change. Hopefully it picks up a new account and send an alert out :)
