Just got all my card an cheque book etc. through from my NatWest current account :j YAY! Card is blue though so I am assuming that it is a card that need full authorisation as all my friends ones are purple. Also I asked for an overdraft facility but there has been no mention of it. I assume that this means that I haven't got one?

Natpest are a nightmare, as has already been stated AVU can play their little games. If I was you I'd stick a healthy balance in it (if you have money, know it's not easy to do something like that) then it may sway their decision (as you are a lot in credit rather than at £0/£10 etc!).

As for the cards, I had one blue and one purple. The one that's active is the purple one (4751 29 BIN), that's for my Student Account (which has a overdraft active)... the blue one was for my other current account (with no OD) I assumed, but apparently it was for the Student Account too (no idea how they worked that one out!) and it's been cancelled, so I'm waiting for my new current plus card to show up, I'm assuming that will be blue again though as I don't have an overdraft. Will let you know if it gets here, going to go over and check my post in a minute, it might have got here already

See the thing is I don't have money to pay into the account just now...only got enough to cover direct debits and 50 quid or so extra until I get paid in a fornight (Wish my Other Half woul hurry up and get paid so I stop having to pay all the rent :p). I'll just wait and see what happens. I am quite shocked they are allowed to close your account once you have recieved the card, pin, chequebook etc. Seems strange to me. Anyways.
  • that.s Natpest all day long when i was 18 i apply for a loan of £2000 told you can have it the money when in my account then back out within a hour told sorry you cant have one

Yea that's fair enough, just hope for the best then :)

Na the closing your account thing is standard for them :( If it happens you could try and challenge it to see if they'll review the decision, but AVU are higher than Underwriters, so they have the final say either way. It's probably in the terms somewhere that you have to pass an AVU check, as that's how they operate. I know for credit accounts companies put in the agreement how they can close down your account whenever they see fit (or words to that effect anyway!). It does seem like such a waste of time/money to send out PINs etc before it's 100% though!

I'm amazed they let me keep 2 current accounts! Then when I upgraded one to a Student account I assumed the other current account would have been closed! Wish I'd opened more when I was younger now! Back then all I had to do was take in my card and ask for a new step account and they'd clone it on the system instantly and get the new cards etc sent out, so realistically I could've gone for 5, that then would've then turned into 5 current accounts :rotfl:

I've got 3 lined up, all at the same site, I don't do normal betting though it's the maths side of it, so I'll have to wait and see what happens when it all starts. Just going up the shop now with my mate so I can get back in time for it to start (she hates football so doesn't even want to watch the game I stream onto the TV!)
