I read that basic accounts are not scored to build up internal history so possibly not, but i'm no expert
When I had a HBOS one they never used anything from my easycash history before giving me the full account, I was scored and passed it on appeal. Now closed though.0 -

Well I would like a definite answer on this too. I've just posted yesterday on another thread that I'm considering leaving my Barclay Cash Card account, or applying for a 2nd Full Bank account with Barclays too.
Basically as I understand it you will never be offered credit products via internal methods on this account because the basic accounts are not credit checked. Also you can't Upgrade the Cash Card account, you would need to get a new account with new number.
However despite this, I did read a while ago that another cash card account holder was told by a member of staff that they need to have a minimum "income or account credit balance" or something can't remember what he called it before they will consider upgrading the account. But i'm certain you would definitely need a new account number and while your on the cash card account you will never be pre-approved for a Barclaycard (or any other credit) on the online banking screen.0 -

It's on the website as well, and your link may be personalised, so watch out
That seems to mean they feel they need more customers, I suspect maybe a cashback option is coming up as well (none on topcashback though). That could be an easier way to bag a few quids more than not paying interest on a £200 limit if that's what you are eligible for...
Cap1 already offer a cashback card, but you need "flawless credit history" to get it  Bit of a stupid one given how their company started out! I'm waiting to see what new cards are going to come out next month, if any - if decent ones come out I may close the card I've got (after I ask Aqua nicely for an increase...)0 -
my wife got a increase off auqa after 6 months i thinksilver limit £1000 jjb limit £2500
