To apply for an overdraft above your guaranteed limit of £100.00 please contact us on 08457 20 30 40 or visit any branch

So should I take the £100 (I'm never going to use it with their ridiculous charges and 1.5k at Natpest) as staying above £0 will be seen as even better? Or is it not worth it because my "available credit" ratio will be up then....
How often do they update that? Hopefully it goes up then I can apply for the credit card again
Yah I'd just leave it. It's not worth it, it'll be £100 extra on your credit report you most likely won't use.
I think it's once a month they review it. My guaranteed amount used to change quite frequently when I was using my account. Highest it has been was like £4000, all depends on how much money is going in to the account. We’ve had to remove your signature. ) would that be enough? I haven't got any DDs to be paid from there
I'll take the debit card but almost certainly won't use it - I've used my actual debit card twice in over a year for purchases (both would've put me over my credit limit on CCs), use it mostly for cash withdrawals. Would using Halifax for cash instead be seen as a bad thing? I know using credit cards for cash advances is really bad and makes you seem desperate, but using a debit card for one would be part of normal banking? I'm trying to get my Natpest internal rating up too, see if I can get a new card from them so it's hard to concentrate on 2 at once!0 -
Well got my Capital One card yesterday with £200 limit. well chuffed!
Oh and applied for an overdraft with Natpest and they refused, so made an application with Lloyds for a new account with £100 O/D and got it! Nothing special but I haven't had an account with an O/D since I was 18 lol. :TThis thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.0 -

Try and pass as much money as you can through your Halifax account. Do that for about 6 months then apply for a credit card, they should give you one easily.
Using a debit card for withdrawing cash is fine, that's the whole point in having a bank account! We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

. Then Capital One, Vanquis is supposed to be one but they declined me and then approved me 6 months later and then I got a letter saying I was declined so don't know what they're playing at!

So in theory if I kept taking cash out it would increase my internal rating? As I'm using the account?
Funniest bit was on the phone to them when they wanted me to go through security for my Easycash - "Please name a recent debit within the past 7 days". I was logged into online banking so could see. Was like ummm £750, but didn't want to say who it was to from incase it had any influence on my Reward Current Account. She was like who was that to, so I was like "umm, Skybet!". Then she went silent, and asked for a recent credit so I said £700 from myself :rotfl: They clearly know what I'm using that easycash for!!0 -
Zack sygma are the easiest ,whats you getting a current account anything to do with it ,we are talking about credit cards not where your wages are being payed into..
Personally don't think sygma give a damn about what current account you have,4 in 5 people have a current account unless you have just left school, think sygma would be looking at your credit card history TBh..0 -

And credit card providers do give a damn what current account you have, and how long you've had it - it shows stability and the ability to manage credit (overdrafts, chequebooks and "offline" debit cards), as there is the ability to go overdrawn, you not going overdrawn shows good management of the account . If current accounts didn't matter they wouldn't be reported and Aqua wouldn't have asked me about my current accounts!!0 -
ive had a basic barclays account for 3 months now ill phone them up during the week to upgrade to a full account, i just went on the elec. roll this month i dont think Sygma will accept that
i tried littlewoods and they gave me a 250 limit so im just wondering whether i should run my accounts for 3 months before tryin aqua or just try straight away0
