Annoyed! Trolleys and Supermarket Car Park

I returned to my car after work today and had 3 scratches and a couple dents along the side of my car.. and a stack of about 5 trollys!
So annoyed! Its not just one small part either its in 3 places across the side of my car, main damage is just infront of drivers side door which has the main dent

Rang the people who operate the car park but not all is covered by cctv and is looking doubtful! plus with about 5-6 trollys now left by my car, would be hard to see which of them did the damage

So annoying as if one trolly is left is bad enough, but for then lots of others just to leave theirs with the other is annoying, trollys were facing my car so every new trolly that was put with the one left was prob pushing more into my car.

Sadly you pretty much have to accept parking in a supermarket = dents. Either people slam their doors into your car or whatever. Best thing is to try park at the far end of the car park where the lazy people generally can't be bothered to park. Even then you'll sometimes find someone has parked 3" away from you and you wonder how they possibly got out of their car without hitting yours with their door.

Yeh i usually park at the end or next to a pathway or disabled (have a blue badge) - But wasnt any spaces at the end today
Usually its me parking at the end as my doors on my car are big, and have to open them wider for me to get in and out anyway!
Just annoying and havent had much luck since getting this car less than 2 months ago. and that its not just in one spot on the car but 3 scratches from front to back!

One of our current mangers had her car written off by someone who reserved the spare tire of a 4*4 into her bonnet(cat D of course). Lots of people have no respect for other people property.

There is a small chance of claim against the supermarket but you'd have to prove they were negligent which in this case it doesn't really sound that way.

This is the reason why you'll find my car parked as far away from supermarkets as possible - usually near the recycling bins where people never park, just pull up parallel to the bins for 5 mins :rotfl:

Haven't had the trolley/car park problem with our latest car, although I suspect that may be due to the fact that I'm running 33" tyres :D

So to save your precious car, you drive it through a sea of broken glass? Nice.

You parked in a supermarket car park to go to work, presumably not at the supermarket and now you are grumbling that your car has been damaged.
If you are an employee of the supermarket then you might well have a chance that your colleagues will go through the CCTV for you but if, in the eyes of the supermarket, you are some sort of waster who clogs up one of their parking spaces to the detriment of their customers then the supermarket is not going to bend over backwards to help you.

Yeah i do work at the supermarket, Its within a Town Centre so not just the supermarket's car park anyway (just nearest)
Ive already rang the people who operate the car parks who is looking at the CCTV but already said that it prob wont be on there as they mainly cover the areas by the pay machines

OP i have to say i do sympathise with you unlike many on here. At the end of the day it is irrellevant as to whether you parked near or far away from the supermarket, the point is other people should have respect for other peoples property. I ALWAYS am very concious of how we park and when we get out i am always very careful to not bang doors etc (even it is some heap next to us!). We bought our car immaculate and some scumbag has scratched the bonnet..why? Unfortunately there will always be that lazy so and so who won't manage to walk to the nearest trolley park to return their trolley so this happens.
Out of interest i take it they weren't coin ones? makes far more people return them when they know they are getting thier £1 back!
I hope the cctv helps you. x

The CCTV is not for your benefit.

Someone stole my car aerial in a TESCO car park.
I asked the security to check their CCTV footage.
He asked me where, and I pointed. He made no effort to
work out which car mine was, and just fobbed me off with that area was not covered by the CCTV.
It was five cars away from the main entrance!

If the car park operator has suffered no loss,
    they can't be bothered!
