Well I disagree!...........If I worked for any company selling anything to a student, like a phone contract I would want proof that they could pay for it. She didn't even have a penny in her account when she went for it, and in the middle of signing the contract she had to leave the shop to borrow a pound of her friend to pay it into her account, so the salesman could sort her direct debit out.......So to me I think the contract should have been disallowed!

Then why did the silly girl sign up for it??????

It is NOT the fault of the shop.

Why aren't you moaning to your daughter about her lack of responsibility?!

Well if they checked in the first place that people had the means to pay, there wouldn't be that problem, would there!!!!!!!!!!

So you suggest mobile phone companies ask for a SOA before they allow someone to take out a contract?

    Don't be so silly!

    The saleman is to blame?

How do you work that one out?

He's just doing his job, which is to sign people up to mobile contracts and do a credit check ~ which he did.

Did he have your daughters hand behind her back forcing her to sign?

Thanks for the advice, but I've probably got more common sense than you!
