You haven't turned on mac address filtering or anything have you?
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

That was sarcasm. In the ~6 hours between you asking and me replying you could've googled for "mac address filtering" and found out what it was.

The lowest form of wit is saying sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

I've given you a suggestion. A possibility why your netbook can see the wireless network, but can't connect to it even though you're using the right password.

To my knowledge you haven't mentioned your router model, so you'll have to work this bit out for yourself, but you want to go into the router settings and see if you're using mac address filtering for connecting via wireless.

He, and others, have already done that. Wireless problems can be particularily difficult to diagnose and fix.

Please confirm exactly what machine you have and the precise version of Ubuntu installed on it. Also, does a wired connection work?

Post 2 for the forum warriors out there :-)

Otherwise switch distro. Linux Mint could be good! It's based off Debian!
:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!
