If they TOLD you in advance a change of circs would mean a period of time without CTC then it would be better as you could put some by to get through that period, but they don't. Also some people only have CTC as an income through circumstances which don't fit in the benefits system so putting some aside is incredibly difficult. Also managing on nothing for six weeks with children and with weekly bills to pay and no access to credit is bloomin hard. We're coping, butit shouldnt be like this and it does serve to encourage benefit fraud as it is such a nightmare changing anything.

Anyway, I got another letter from my MP today passing on a copy of the letter from the tax credit complaints peeps which is nice. He's keeping me updated, and I have let him know how things are going my end.

I still havent got the forms through though I did receive confirmation my single claim has stopped and notification there may be an overpayment which they'll sort out next april.

Why on earth can't you survive for six weeks? Nearly everyone goes through patches where they have to survive on nothing for a few weeks. It is up to you to manage your income to accommodate such periods.

    Yet another non-story.
your day might come hopefully one day so lets hear you moan. if you havent got anything good to say. simple dont bother coming on. rude ignornt people

just been catching up on this thread. i can't believe the wait is so long. i only posted my form off a week ago, by first class post. looks like i'm in for a good few weeks to wait yet.
mine will most likely be delayed even further as i had to send it without a child benefit number. i rang the other day to add my cb number to the claim and they said they couldnt do it til it was on the system, which could take 2 weeks. money is incredibly tight at the moment. so as for the person that said "why on earth cant you survive for a few weeks", this is easy to say when you have the money coming in to pay the bills. but when you're having to juggle things around and put bills off, just so you can feed your kids , it gets you down.
its not that you physically cant survive, of course we can, we have no choice, but its hard when the phone is ringing with people asking for money and letters arriving cas of arrears in this that and the other.
people really ought to learn some compassion for others!!!
