I had this problem when I got back with my OH, I had mortgage arrears building up for 6 weeks, as OH was then self employed we lived on pennies literally. My DS1's birthday was during this period I had to get my sister to order his present from her catalogue- costing more than the shop value. I sorted it by making an appointment with my local tax office. They chased it- it then got 'stuck' in the system, they 'unstuck' the claim and I recieved my payment 3 days later. Yes it was a big back payment, but by the time everything had been paid off I had nothing left.
The person I dealt with at the tax office was so compasssionate- something I needed at the time, and did her best to sort if for me, with the little I had left I sent her a card, just so she knew how much she had helped me.
Hope you get everything sorted soon.

The forms havent even arrived yet for me. Funnily my partner called up on Friday to get forms to fill in info from his P60 for his ex's tax credits (ie to confirm last years was right) and the form arrived next morning !!!
I'm going to ring them and chase it again later on.LegalBeagles0 -

Apparently they cant help as the 10 days isn't up yet. If I dont have it after 10 days then I have to ring and they send another one, also within 10 days. Also apparently the mean lady I spoke to on the 22nd didnt order a pack to be sent out (despite me being in tears and obviously distressed at having potentially 6 weeks without TC) but the lady I spoke to on the 25th when I called back to check it had been sent out, has ordered it and it should be here by the 5th July.
Also asked if returning it by special delivery / recorded would speed things up and told no, so I'll save my £4 and just get a posting receipt from PO.
Once they have it back she says ' the guidance states 3 weeks' for them to sort it out. So that takes me (assuming I get it by 5th July and back by 7th) to 21 July ? If it works out that way its 'only' a month I suppose, but its going to be a tough month.
Far too much writing to say what I was going to there, soz xx
Actually a question, on the new claim for joint claim, what info will I need to put down for partners new job, he gets paid weekly and gets weekly payslips but doesnt have a P60 or anything from the new job. Also he does very variable amounts of overtime so would we just put the basic for now and then its sorted out at the end of the period (ie next april) for the overtime ? Theres no company car / child care etc stuff to worry about so am hoping it will all be straight forwards.
(edit: been reading and apparently as its a new job and we have no idea how much overtime he may get we just put down his basic for the estimated income for the year, then next april we give in the figures from the P60 and if its under 25k more its okay (lol be nice to get more than 25k in overtime pay really wouldnt it) ) and the next years is based on that P60 figure. We cant base it on his last job as it was an entirely different pay level and structure. so think I'm sorted on that, once the ruddy forms show up)LegalBeagles0 -
