Is anyone else having probs getting through today? It took 5 attempts to even get through!

Just of Phone to martin at tax credits. He said it still not finalised and thinks its because my kids have been on a previous clain, single claim, that thats where the hold up is he asked have they wrote for information from me so I said no. Once again i was told it could be any day now for it to be finalised and if they want info they would write, asked to speak to a supervisor but alledgedly none was avaliable!

Phoned at 3, only on hold for 5 mins :) Got a lovely guy, couldnt help tho, said they 'registered' claim on 7th July and its 3 weeks from then (grrrr), yes it will be backdated to when circs changed and the overpayment will be sorted out within the back payment (overpayment works out about £50 covering up until the single claim stopped - they have billed me for £600 but the backpayment on the joint claim covers the majority of that) Gave them partners estimate for this year, tho little concerned he just took his current weekly pay and has forgotten there were 2 months where he was on his higher old salary, but never mind will sort that once things are more settled and the payments have restarted rather than risk more delays.

Have borrowed some money from my mum so my eldest can have a trip to cinema with a friend and a KFC for her birthday next weds, otherwise we're coping ok, just not paying our half the rent, water or tv - just council tax, electric and food. Just hope its not much more than 3 weeks or Summer Hols are going to be a bit difficult.

yeah same here. having to skip a couple of weeks rent (only paying a few quid a week at the mo with housing benefit), our internet, tv and phone will be cut any day i think since we couldnt afford this months bill. we're eating ok, sort of.
i was told it was on the system on the 1st and it was 3 weeks from then. so hopefully only 1 week to go. i'm hoping they will do the back payment automatically as they say they have not got the letter i put in with the form. but from what ive read on here i'm not very optimistic. going to ring them again tomorrow to see whats happening

UPDATE - Went from joint to single claim 21st June 2010. Monday coming (19th) that will be 4 weeks. At £321 week i should expect nearly 1300 in backpay.

My kids are missing school as we cannot afford petrol, we have very little food, no tv as cannot afford licence at new house, luckily no gas or water bill yet and just 18.00 left on electric until sorted.

All July wages and child benefit allocated but now started to miss payments on DMP. Also worrying about nursery fees due 2 weeks ago.

Have sold loads of stuff on ebay and waiting for £40 to go into bank from paypal soon as i used own money for postage while waiting!!!! This is beyond joke.

Rang few days ago and told waiting award (that has been 2 weeks now) but if need info i will get a call or letter, neither so far????

!!!!!! is taking so long!!!!!!!! I am losing the will to live here
DFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debts :) Just to see which month :))))

I worked out there now paying me £133 a week (claim just starting to be paid after 8 weeks of waiting) and therefore backpay should be 8 * 133 = 1064... Bur Iv only had £668 in backpay. So Im waiting to get the claim forms to make head nor tale of how this works. Dont do what I did and get your hopes up for a big back pay...

I was the same, had no money for food etc... Itts such a joke! And ps I pushed them every week and its 8 weeks today. Iv not had a regular payment yet, that starts next tuesday but Iv just recd the backpay they owe me.
