My boy is going soon

Just to let those of you who have wished me luck with my boys illness, he has a tumour running along his spinal cord in his vertebrae, that I shall be phoning the vets tomorrow to get him booked in for the big sleep .

He has gone down hill quite quickly over the last few days and after much soul searching we have decided that we need to let him go.

I just wanted to let you know that I have appreciated your hugs and thoughts over the last few months since his diagnosis.

I've had to do this twice - and the dog that I have now is getting quite old and I wonder if I'll have to go through it again . Sorry I can't say anything to make you feel better. Just think about the fact that you have given him a wonderful home, and that you are doing a kind thing for him now. Good luck and best wishes.

Thanks all, I know no words can make me feel better, my friend has just called me and we were both crying so much we had to end the call. I just don't know how I'm going to get through the next few days, today has been bad enough and that's just from making the decision.

I'm really sorry. My thoughts are with you. It's one of the hardest things to do but also one of the greatest things, relieving your boy of such discomfort and pain.

Think of the happy times, i'm sure there were plenty!!
