And another one! She does seem very nice, but I really don't like giving my telephone number out to people...

"And again I am so sorry about all of this and You will get your money back even if I have to give it back to you myself and then wait for the police to get it back from them, I will do that as I feel so bad. If you have a number I can call you on that would be great"

I'd tell them if the police want to contact you then the seller needs to get a name and telephone number of the officer dealing with it and you will ring them direct ( proves it is really the police)

Hi, personally I wouldnt give her my phone number..only because she has said she doesnt work for the company any longer...but what i would do is contact the company myself..they have a website www.saver-express.com which has same address/phone number etc that your contact has given you...id just tell them you purchased through ebay and give them the ebay transaction number etc...good luck and i hope you get your delivery soon

I agree with both browntoa and kiwifruit, as has been said tell them you will be at work monday so cant ring you anyway and get the police officers name and station phone number and you will ring them as soon as you get home, and again contact the company direct for more answers.

She really does sound genuine all be it a little over the top maybe for want of a better expression just suck it and see, either way paypal will refund you so play along and see where it heads :)

You can ask for a police station, then look that number up on the internet via bt or similar, and she can give you the police person's badge number, and you can ask for them via the police switchboard.

Sorry to make you more paranoid, but the more she goes on about Monday, the more it would worry me! No reason, it just seems that she's getting another couple of days out of you.

Just keep on with your claim, at least then you will get your money back. After all, it's not your fault she's been duped, if she has.

Oops, sorry Underpressure, you put it earlier, must have crossed in the post!!

The seller can get your details just by requesting them from ebay.

Whilst I would feel sorry for the seller she took a risk if she is drop shipping or such like so really needs to deal with this herself and not get you involved. Your contract is with the seller, the third party is nothing to do with you at all and you have no part in any complaint she may or may not have. It is unfortunately entirely up to the selller to recover her own situation and not to make it look like you have a problem too.

She says she is willing to refund you herself if necessary, that sounds good but is in fact the minimum she is required to do by paypal. Wherever the money went to is where paypal will get it back, if it went to her and was passed on then it comes back from her.

    As Soolin,

Your contract is with the seller. You have paid for the items via paypal which ensures your covered. As above, you file the dispute and keep all contact through that now, even sending messages etc.

Two things will happen, a) the items will arrive b) the items wont arrive and you will get a refund through your Paypal dispute

I would not worry about the police thing, if its true its her problem as she is the seller. I wonder if she is not stalling for the buyer protection period to end?

Maybe the next email is asking for you to remove the dispute as she needs the paypal account to survive/eat/live/pay bills etc.

I would not bet against you on that. Whilst the seller is sounding as stuck as the OP they don't really seem to appreciate that ultimately they are the ones that have the problem.

I* think that I'm getting too cycnical, I don't believe a word of the nice sellers side. If she was employed & left a company, why are the ebay messages still going to her? You don't normally take an employers email address & if ebay is part of that business?
I find it quite hard to believe that she would have gone to the police over some "missing post".
She's probably scamming you & loads of others, if she's nice & helpful, you may not escalate to a claim. Or she'll string you along until it's too late to claim.
If she was a selling agent she should know that she can ask for the OP contact details.
Next she'll have a sick, dying, parent, child, dog or a pimple on her bum & be unable to do anything.
If I were you I'd carry on down the Paypal route. If the Police want to speak to you they'll get your details.
Was it registered as a business seller?

Having done some research using information from the website listed, companies house indicates that the business is going to be struck off presumably for not submitting accounts. Also checking the address on Google street shows that the premises address is actually a chip shop (at the time of the photo being taken), so it could indicate that the business was operating from above the shop, or perhaps has moved.

I'd therefore suggest that this is why the seller is sayign they left the business and possibly why there have been difficulties getting the items.

Raising a claim is the best course of action and wait until the timescales have lapsed to get your money back.
