I just hate the whole BMI business - partly bc I think it is so inaccurate. For instance, I am breastfeeding 2 babies at the moment and there's not way that the calculation should be the same for me as for a non-breastfeeding woman of the same height!

I'll put the one of the babies on it! ;-)

  • I don't think you can get past the BMI scren, but to be honest, who cares?

If you're overweight, who cares, at least you're doing something about it if you use your Wii fit regularly.

According to my one, I'm obese, yet I don't feel like I am. I can still play football, badminton and run around after my kids.

It's not a complete fitness system, but it could help you lose weight if you use it regularly.

You can also set a PIN so no one else can see your results.

I'm naturally a very skinny person. :D when I was breastfeeding DD1 I carried about two stone extra - so much for breastfeeding being a way to lose post baby weight. I stopped feeding after a year and the weight dropped off almost immediately. DD2 I was a size 10 two days after her birth (huge baby though).

If you are BF you do have to be careful what exercise you do. too much upper body stuff can make for sore boobs.

Got to add - I love the wii fit. Great fun and it's really motivating to see progress. Once you've entered bmi I think you can skip it every time you log on... Feeding two babies? Respect!

This is my feeling exactly!

  • we have a wii fit but tbh we only do it at home and its only family, and also if your doing it infront of other people im sure they can see you might not be the fittest of people but hell who are they to judge you!

Hi, I know this is slightly off the topic but I want to get a wii fit for Christmas for the family. Does anyone know if the current Argos deal of £69.99 is the best deal? and does that contain everything I need to play it?

  • Actually, it uses your weight/BMI and centre of gravity as a way of identifying you, so putting the cat on it won't work unless you're going to do that every time you turn the wii fit on ;)

It's to stop someone else pretending to be you.

There's an option to put a password on your own 'account' for your Mii so no-one else can see what you weigh.:j

    hiya,

yes £69.99 is the best price, (some places are trying to sell for more but £69.99 is the original price)
assuming you already have the wii console then yes everything you need is in the box ready to go,

got mine last week, first time i went on it did my bmi & weight & everything then ive been using it everyday & i just press training so you can choose which days you want to know your date, i will tomorrow as that will be one week so i`ll know if its made any difference :)

i cant believe how much fun they are!
at least the laughing will keep me fit if nothing else :rotfl:
