Wii Fit questions

Remember not to fall into the trap that a lot do. I have seen countless people go for a run or swim and then overestimate how many calories they have burned. As a result they decide that they can reward themselves by having an extra snack and end then can't figure out why they are putting on weight.sillybillyme wrote: »hi all
i relly need to tone up and lose a bit of weight my youngest is 4 and i still have a bit of a jelly belly!!
is there a thread on here that involves getting fitter by using the wii fit for a certain amount of time a day/week? i have looked but i cant seem to find anything.
i really need to start using mine again but i feel like i need to join a challenge to help me along the way if that makes sense. thanks to anyone who can help.

A good way I have found to motivate myself is to regard snacks as the amount of running needed to burn off it off. e.g. A standard pack of crisps is about 150 to 200 calories so that would require about a 2 mile run.
It certainly makes you think twice about snacking when you are running up a hill with miles still to go!0 -
Hi Everyone
Im currently trying to loose some weight and ive been on slimming world for 6 weeks and manages to shift a stone so far. Ive started to do some exercise and i now do 2 aqua aerobics classes a weeks (45 mins each) and ive started walking once a week (on top of my normal walking as i dont have a car) for about 1 1/2 hours with a pushchair.
I keep on looking online at Wii's and i cant make my mind up whether to get one with the wii fit balance board. Does anybody on here use one regularly or have you bought it with good intentions and now its gathering dust somewhere. What exercise type games are the best?March 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -
i used mine regulary but then got very bored, very quickly and decided "why run on the wii when i can run outdoors" . . .
It was nice to see the results on screen (i dont go to WW or anything like that) but the exercises i didnt really find did that much for me (others may have a different story)0 -
I bought one a few weeks ago and am that obsessed with the balancing games, I've never really moved onto the fitness.
A friend of mines husband has lost a couple of stone using it regular though.
I think its like anything............you need to stay motivated and do "something"
I like it as it shows me my BMI and weight so if I've put on a few pounds I know to watch the eating and up the exercise.Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Hi - I have one and use it regularly, I use it mainly to tone up using the yoga part of Wii Fit. I enjoy using it and the kids all love it too but I have found it does not help loose weight. I walk 4 miles a day 7 days a week and have never been overweight and I believe its because I walk so much. I now take my overweight niece walking with me and she has lost 2 stone so far. So I would save my money and walk more instead if I were you.0

I've been using the wii fit for at least 3 times a week since November. I think it's main use is motivation, it keeps track of what you've done and what your BMI is/was. My Wii fit age is falling but I've not lost any weight..... I keep telling msyelf that muscle weighs heavier than fat
and at least I'm moving rather than sitting on my bum ALL day. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

It depends on what type of person you are- Im better being out at an exercise class being pushed by an instructor I find it very hard to motivate myself- I used ours regularly when I first started losing weight but once I felt at a comfortable size I joined the gym...sold the wii and all accessories just before Xmas and made my money back so there was nothing lost. the kids never bothered with it either after a few months so bought them an xbox- maybe a mistake as my OH has turned me into an xbox widow lol. I loved the boxing game on the Wii, but I prefer boxercise class more

Hi,
I got the Wii fit with board for my Bday and didn't even plugged it in yet - we are currently doing up our bathroom and the house looks like a building site that is why.
But I do loooove the Wii in general. I play lot of tennis and boxing - I tell you what, you can feel your muscles after that!!
And it's brilliant when people comes round - nearly all our parties end up with group of people playing bowling or singing:rotfl:It's brilliant fun.0 -
I got one three weeks ago and I love it, I'm not convinced by the running or the cycling and so I don't know how much difference it will make - but I love doing the balance things, training plus and the step and I figure that the 30 minutes I spend on it a day I would otherwise just be sitting around so something is better than nothing, particularly when my local leisure centre doesn't do step or aerobics classes.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Hey,
I am really tempted to get a wii fit plus. My gym membership is now too expensive and thinking this is a cheaper option, even though it wont be as intense, it will do until my gym drops its prices and gives me a good deal. Can anyone reconmend where I can get one under £60?
Thanks in advance :-)0
