Thank you pink-winged for not merging it, I do struggle to find 5 things for the other thread. Its a difficult job you do - I did it for another site and wouldn't do it again.

That definitely sounds like a victory to me. :j

My small victories today have all been in the garden as it's such glorious weather today, I've spent most of it outside.....the tadpoles in the pond now have back legs! :D I have five ripe strawberries (to share between four of us ;)) I picked my first courgettes today, and finally....I caught next door's cat licking her lips while watching some fledgling finches eating from the bird feeder....I put the hose on full blast. Not kind to the cat I know, but it didn't harm her and thankfully the little birds will live to fly another day.

I was dreading having to pop to the supermarket to get some salad and then noticed some of my own grown salad is ready - super :j

also wanted gnocci, but found a recipe in my 50p cook book I got from a charity stall last week - result :D ('cause I find it hard to control my spending when stepping foot in a shop !!)

One serious overspend avoided for another day ;)

Hi I am not sure if its a victory or not ,but I went to Bluewater to spend some vouchers that I had at John Lewis.Bus to get there (bus pass so no petrol )bought a lovely Kenwood eco energy one ,should have been £59.95 but as it had no box it was £39.00.Then went into the food hall where the Gala apples were 69 per kilo instead of £1,99 so six cost me 67p then 500 gms of best beef mince miss-labelled at £1.92 instead of £2.89,but they kindly honoured it so I cam out with a smile on my face .Thought I would treat myself to lunch in John Lweis's cafe and after being served my pot of tea and waiting 20 minutes for lunch I asked one of the 'suits' where my lunch was as I was feeling a bit hollow by then.Very apologetic and gave me the lunch with their compliments which was very nice as it saved me £8.45.So I seem to be on a roll today.Oh and I managed to get my Lakeland poached-egg pocket holders for £1.99 as I had a three pound voucher that had to be used up by the end of this month so its been a pretty good day all round I think

    Mortgage-free Glee!
My small victory today concerns my chest freezer, which is heading off to the freezer home in the sky tomorrow after 27 years of excellent service. However, it's damaged inside so ices up incredibly quickly, is more expensive to run than more modern models and is hard to defrost - I almost disappear inside! The victory was giving myself permission to finally throw the unwrapped, freezer - burnt items lurking at the bottom! Felt very un-OS, but finally admitted that I was not going to use them, so transferring them to my shiny new upright that arrives tomorrow would be a real waste of time! Yes, I've thrown away money I'd spent, but feel much happier - and I have a lovely new notebook (not new, found in a cupboard) in which to record what's going into each new drawer. Hope I'm forgiven and not thrown off this board!
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!
  • When dad died, my sister and I were divvying up his cookery books. She got the best one out of a duff collection. Nothing special - just Ken Hom's Hot Wok but the recipes in it were quick and easy.
I found it today in a charity shop for £2. Victory was mine.
