Had a few success's with my new breadmaker and only one failure. Today it was gingercake - more like a bread, just need to defrost the whoopsied butter and it will be lovely.

I just made miso soup for the first time ever and it was ever so good (if I may say so myself:D) and also I had never tasted it b4 but had heard good things about it and got some paste from the supermarket heavily reduced so gave it a go. I also cobbled together my own recipe from others as i wanted to use what I had on hand rather then going to the supermarket. I am now going to make a big batch up and keep in the fridge to have every day- but add the greens and paste fresh with every bowl so its healthier. Yum yum!!!!!!!!!!!!Thailand 3010/15000 20150

Its not a victory but to me it feels like it, I found a single lovely, plump and very deep green courgette in my garden. Its the only one so far, my DD has taken a liking to saving pips and seeds from any fruit to see if she can grow from it.
If i can stop my ds from picking the carrots before they are ready then that would be my real victory!0 -
Mine starts off not so much as a victory...
Got the bus earlier, paid for my £2.90 ticket with 3 pound coins... And waited... And waited... As the driver glared at me and finally told me to sit down. I asked about my change and she said she had no 10p pieces. After a very long pause she eventually agreed to give it to me when I got off.
Got to my stop - still no 10p coins, nor any 20p or 50p... I got off the bus without my change, fuming, with the driver saying to the passenger behind me "It's only 10p, don't know what she's so annoyed about".
Anyway, a few minutes later I discover a shiny 5p on the pavementThen about 5 steps later, a 20p
So, it turned into a victory in the end
Still annoyed about my 10p thoughNobody I'd rather be0 -
I was feeling fed up earlier, had no reason to feel that way as the sun was shining but couldn't shake the feeling.
Anyway I decided to go for a little walk and see if I could get some cuttings for a hedge that I am trying to plant when I spotted what was I thought was cigarette packet that had been thrown away.I bent down to throw it into the litter bin when I discovered it was a twenty pound note.
Cheered me up no end :jThen God looked over all he had made, and said, "I can see idiots from my house".
Noam Chromsky "There's nothing wrong with picking the lesser of two evils"...you end up with less evil.0 -
Relative newbie here, but been reading and getting inspired by you all to take note of when the little things go right.....and I have literally just realised I now have a 'Victory' all of my own! :j
My victory today is finding all my old CD albums about half an hour ago when I thought they'd gone walkabout and realising that I can put them all (well, the songs I like anyway!) onto my sadly mostly empty iPod without spending a penny! :money:
Still really want Jace Everett's Bad Things, will perhaps get it tomorrow - if I get around to making a first attempt at HM bread, it can be my little 'treat' to myself LOL :T
ETA -the iPod filling will have to wait until tomorrow, iTunes is taking far too long to get the info from the CDs

I am so chuffed, I have a flower on my pumpkin plant and teeny tiny corn cobs on my sweetcorn. Suddenly all that nurturing and care seems worth it!Clearing the junk to travel light

I went to Mr S this morning and only bought what was on my list! I didn't let myself be tempted - well I did, but I put them back on the shelf instead of buying! :rotfl:
Life has been a bit of a struggle for the last 18 months or so but I think I see light at the end of the tunnel:)0
