Cheers, Hypno, I know you have found a great source of comfort from this site and are making a good life for yourself with the help of your friends on here. Why on earth can't life be simple, hey? Maybe we should ban people from getting married or tied up with anybody? Then there would probably be a lot of miserable lonely people around. Oh well, that's human beings for you.One life - your life - live it!0

Hi Nargle - had a good slow read of your posts so far and felt the turmoil you have and are going through.
We are all so good at 'putting on the face' aren't we, so others do not know the depths of our despair. I do hope that your daughter has a good life after what she went through and I know she does not blame you. Your son sounds very level headed for 12 was it? He knows what's what I mean.
We women do put up with a lots for the sake of love, lots more than men will put up with. I am not sure if you can change your OH given his history but respect your decision to see it through. Only you know whether the good times and hope of better times to come, compensate for his behaviour to you and your children. I am sure that he would not admit that his behaviour is over-the-top to say the least, but perhaps when your son eventually leaves home for uni or work, you too can work it out between you.
Things can get better - already I expect that writing it all down in this diary has given you a better understanding of what has gone on and you will feel more in control - 'empowered' in a way.
Will subscribe to keep up to date but please keep posting your lovely and humerous contributions elsewhere, especially on NTN7 - we all love you - you are a lovely person, that is easy to see

Nargle - just read through and wanted to say basically the same thing 3dogs has said, except I know my words won't be as eloquent as hers.
It sounds to me that your daughter does not blame the current situation or any of the issues whilst at home on you and so whilst you may feel you did not do the best for her, and say as much above, this really is not something to focus or dwell on. It sounds like she has done well so far (and the blowing her inheritance bit, well whatever OH thinks that is I am sure totally normal for 18year olds and nothing to do with her father's genes, she seems to have learnt and be trying now financially so thats a lot sooner than many of us manage.) So to me it sounds like you have brought up two great, strong kids and as you are the common denominator then I reckon a good proportion of that is down to you. And hey - just maybe you are strong and great as well
The other comment I wanted to make is that maybe in sounding normal on the phone is that his way of wanting to move on from the argument you had and let things return to normal? I had an ex who did this, we never resolved or discussed our arguments, we simply ignored each other for a few days and then went back to normal.
Can you set up a new email account, an online one a yahoo or hotmail that you are your daughter can use to correspond and talk things through? even if you only do it whilst OH is out for now (I'm not saying you should have to sneak around to do this but maybe that will be a solution for you for now and allow you to stay in better contact and discuss all the stuff about her wedding and allow her to support you emotionally as well.)
Anyway I'll have to dash as I have a meeting shortly but I hope things do settle down soon at home and hope you have collected 2 delicious eggs from your girls.
Take care and keep posting.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

I'll be back on later with a proper post once I've wrung out my keyboard... but for now I want to offer all my support and if I was in your neck of the woods I'd make you a cuppa and give you a giant hug. Those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter
