Edindevon wrote:This is just a note for anyone considering going for an R&R based on the out of date Tesco Mobile Motorola leaflets that are still in many stores. I know a lot of people have had success, but I didn't and I've had plenty of pretty high value R&rs in the past.
I got a complete rejection on a Motorola V220 when I tried it at Exeter Exe Vale yesterday. They had loads of the 10% off leaflets on the shelf and the phone went through at £59.97, rather than £53.97 on the leaflet. However, the CS woman was clear that it was in writing that the offer ended on September 3rd, so all she would do is give me the phone at the lower price as a gesture of good will. I pointed out that the print for the expiry date was minuscule compared to the advertised price, but she wouldn't budge. I got her to call the duty manager and she took exactly the same position.
In the end I just asked for a full refund, which kind of made it obvious that I was only interested in R&R. All I can say is that if you go for this, be prepared for failure.

I have had the same experience in this store on out of date SEL for champagne previously so tread carefully in Exeter0 -

I've never done an R n R before but may try one today!
So do you just buy and then take it with the receipt to the CS desk?0 -
I`ve had some good success with the phone and the leaflets - In the first store I visited they had the leaflets (around 1000 of them) on the shelves below then phones. above the phone display was a large cardoard banner stating `10% off all tesco motorola phones`.
I picked the L7 but it had no SEL. I also collected a leaflet.
When paying I chose a till that also displayed the leaflets.
Went to CS, she called manager & he said `we can only offer it to you for £89 as there was no SEL & if there is no SEL the policy dosen`t apply`.
He mentioned the refund policy before I did. So I said as there was no SEL I read the leaflet to find out the price.
I also pointed out that the red L7 and another phone were still the same price as the leaflet so I assumed the one I`d bought would be too.
He wouldn`t budge - my arguement being that the price was displayed over 1000 times at the point of sale & at the till.
Then asked for the store manager who happened to walk past at that moment & he instantly ok`d R&R.
Store 2`s arguement was that as some phones were the same price it was ok to leave the leaflet out. duty manager overulled them in less than a minute.
As with all things it depends on the person you get to deal with.0 -

Look here for all the info you need and work your way through till you know what it entails. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -
Hello, I have a question for those who trawl round many tescos in one area... Do you use cards to pay or cash? I have started visiting four to five stores each week (god I'm dull!) but am a little concerned that as I use cards Mr T will spot what I'm doing and ban me. At the same time I don't want to carry round cash just in case I spot a mis-price.
Thanks,

bkm - some use cash & some use cards. I always use cash as I prefer it to plastic.0

I would also advise that you don't use your clubcard. Tesco is able to see your purchase history through your clubcard. In fact, that's one of the reasons why it was introduced! It enables Tesco to personalize offers to suit your shopping habits. So, if you buy 5 Xbox 360s, and use your clubcard every time, Tesco can see it....
The clubcard is basically a massive database of individuals' shopping habits and personal details. If you think of how many people in the UK have a clubcard, you can begin to imagine exactly what Tesco has in its clubcard database. In fact, it's said that Tesco's database is more correct in terms of personal details than the IR and the DWP.
In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.

I did the Motorola SEL, store wouldn't budge, rand CS and then got them to ring store. Store gave me full refund plus product.
Good old CS!0
