Well according to that, we are paying £234 capital off the mortgage each month, that's more than I thought so I'm pleased with that. 15 squares to colour in on my chart if I can find it! I think it's in the middle of a huge pile of magazines and paperwork, eek!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

Ooh, since June, it looks like I've paid off £2708 off of the mortgage and debt, so I'm really happy with that :j:T:j"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

I've been out in the garden this morning, and sorted out the corner by the wheelie bin which was really needed. Tidied a few things away, gave it a good sweep out and it's looking a lot better now.
I've also planted up two pots of lavender to go either side of the back door as I've heard that it should help reduce the number of flies that come into the house. We shall see, but it looks pretty anyway
Whilst I was potting up the lavender I moved a bag of compost and came face to face with a big frog, being 'marginally' pathetic I ran screeching into the house  with DH laughing at me. Having got over that, I went back out and carried on with the little froggie watching me the whole time, until he decided he preferred the look of the overgrown section."If you can dream it, you can do it". We have just been to the cinema to watch the A team. We had a voucher for one ticket, and so only paid for the other one. I quite enjoyed it, it was a fun no-brainer film. DH is a fan of the TV series so he wanted to go and watch it.
We are off to Silverstone tomorrow for a Ford fair, not my thing, but keeping DH company (he is a complete petrol head!) All in all, it's been a nice relaxed day today, and I've only spent a little bit on drinks and sweets for the cinema (bought from Sainsbury's, not the cinema!).
Hope everyone else has had a good day!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Have decided to change my siggie to total debt and mortgage in one figure. Hopefully it will keep me focussed and won't depress me that it isn't going down too quickly.
I'd like to see them both gone, so it is one big debt to me anyway."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Good news today, the van has gone in for MOT and passed! :j:j We were so nervous after the last few months, especially as our mechanic said the exhaust was blowing a bit and the part we needed was £200! But it seems that fingers crossed all is ok for another year and we can get that bit later on. Phew!
I did the first day of shred yesterday and survived, though my arms ache a lot today. Not sure I'll be able to do another one today as BIL has just turned up for a visit. Dont think he wants to see me sweating and puffing away :rotfl:"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Well I did do day 2 of Shred, and it hurt quite a lot. Not going to do it today as I've got a headache and we are off out shopping in a bit anyway.
Going to try and have a relaxed weekend, and do a bit of decluttering, then on Sunday it's Dubs on the Beach at Paignton, so we'll prob be popping down there with the van. We went last year and it was nice and chilled out."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -

REALLY fed up today. We went out yesterday and took the van to Dubs at the Beach at Paignton. Had a lovely day out, and was really happy because the van is driving like a dream now, and we had no problems with it. It was such a relief!
Today though, I was leaving for work late, got in my car, started it, and it wouldn't move. Thought I'd left the handbrake on - nope, thought I was jammed up against the kerb - nope, thought I had a flat tyre - nope. So huffed and puffed and got the bus to work, arriving 20 minutes late. Texted DH who said it sounds like the brakes have seized, shouldn't be a problem to get it going again, and he'll deal with it later. Relief!
Come home on the bus, no sign of the car or DH, big tyre 'skid' mark leading up the road to our drive. DH comes home, and says the normal fix for the brakes didn't work. He called our mechanic who told him it sounds like the handbrake has seized and we'll need to get it recovered to him. DH forced the car up the road to our drive (hence the tyre marks) took the wheel off, did something with the brakes to get it going and drove it over to the garage. It will now be fixed tomorrow.
So now I'm likely to have another big bill, which I can't really afford to payso I'm really fed up now. It's never ending, and I can never seem to get on top of things to be able to build up a bit of leeway on the credit cards, or get an emergency fund built up.
Sorry for the moan."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0
