Thanks for sharing that list, I've only read one from it ! I'd better start challenging myself a bit more instead of all the chick lit I read . Good news about the cat0

I'm a fantasy / sci-fi kinda gal, and I'm currently reading Weaveworld by Clive Barker. I'm not sure how or when this book made it's way into my collection, which is slightly worrying, but it was in my pile of books to sell, until I needed one to keep me occupied when I was getting into work an hour early each day. I had assumed that Clive Barker = horror, but I have been pleasantly surprised and I am really enjoying this one even though it is still a very dark style.
That's funny, I thought Clive Barker was horror too, I'm not sure I've ever read anything by him. Fantasy and Sci Fi is a genre that I don't generally read, so reading some of them on the list has opened my eyes to them.Bookwormlou wrote: »Thanks for sharing that list, I've only read one from it ! You're welcome! One of the reasons I started doing it was because I was reading loads of chick lit at the time. There are some great books on that list that I would not have touched (and plenty of not so great ones too that I was glad to see the back of :rotfl::rotfl:).
I think I've read about 700 odd now, and have probably another 100-200 in my TBR pile, so only 100-200 more to get!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Well I got a £5 amazon voucher from Bingoport today and another £5 one from Lightspeed :j so guess where I'm off to now...:D
This: 803. Diary of a Nobody – George & Weedon Grossmith is my favourite book from the list so far - it is hilarious! I was laughing out loud while reading it.
I'm currently reading: USA by John Dos Passos, A Man of Qualities by Robert Musil, The Childermass by Wyndham Lewis, The Birds Fall Down by Rebecca West, The Intruders by Michael Marshall, and Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult. I read far too many books at once, and it's hard work keeping up with them all!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
I've just checked out my credit reports on call credit and Equifax as you can now get them for £2 online. Luckily all is the same there as on the Experian one (I do subscribe to the monthly service, even though it is not MSE as I want to keep up with things while I'm paying off my debts, and so I can easily get up to date balances as I don't have online access for all of my accounts), so that is all good news."If you can dream it, you can do it". I've just hung the washing on the line, hoping it doesn't blow away as I can't find the pegs :rotfl:I refuse to buy them as I've got loads somewhere, but I haven't found them since we moved! It hasn't been a problem so far as it wasn't too windy, but we had strong winds last night, and it is still pretty windy today."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

Hallelujah!! The mortgage DD has finally been taken! We remortgaged in Feb when we moved, and although we have filled out the DD form 5 or six times, they never managed to set it up properly! Every month we would get a letter saying it had been returned by my bank with 'no instruction', but everytime I phoned the mortgage co they would say it was fine and all set up. I finally got them to cancel the alleged set up DD and do a new one, and finally it seems to have worked! Luckily they didn't count any of the previous months as late payments (that was one reason I kept checking my credit report), I would have been mad if they had!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Wow, my mortgage balance has gone down by £936 this month :j:j:j:j
I don't really understand it as the payment is only £688 lol. I think what must have happened, is they updated before they got the cheque for last month's payment, so two months payments must be showing on there. That's still £450 odd per month, which is much more than I expected, but it's great if that is correct! I presumably will have a better idea next month. It's really frustrating that I can't have online access for the mortgage. What century do these people live in!?!
Oh well, that means I've got loads of squares to colour in on my graph paper this monthAt £15 per square, that is 62 squares, woo hoo!

Hurray about your mortage , I bet you've spent all night staring at your graph ! I know I would ! The amount of books you've got through on the list is really impressive . I think I will try some when I've finished the ones I have at home already. I've been feeling quite unfulfilled by a lot of the books I've read recently and very unchallenged . It has been a while since I have been completely lost in a book , I miss that . It must have been tough going getting through the ones you didn't like though , but if you are anything like me , you have to finish them once you start reading!0

It's definitely a satisfying 'chunk' of the graph paper! :rotfl:
And, yep, I have to finish a book once I start it, just in case it gets good later on!
I love that feeling of being lost in a book and not wanting to put it down, and being in a hurry to get back to it. It's not been fun when I've had a batch of ok books from the list, and I think it's why I read so many in one go!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Well so far today I have cleaned the oven :j (no mean feat, we inherited it when we moved in and I don't think it's ever been done , it's probably 30+ years old too!) I'm so pleased, it looks like I've got a new oven!
I've finished a book, so that has gone on the amazon pile, and I've read and put out for recycling a magazine. I've just been pottering about today, which has made a lovely change. Going to go and do a bit of sorting out now.
Hope everyone is having a good day!"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0
