Always good to talk to a fellow Stephen King fan. I currently have his new one Under the Dome that I have packed in the caravan ready to go. I have also taken with me the 2nd Percy Jackson and a Martina Cole as well just in case I can't get into one for any reason! We are off for 10 days in the morning so I promise to check in with you when I come back from my holidays.

I loved the list and have copied and pasted it into word. I had only actually read about 5 off the list, but have heard of soooo many off there and so have decided to try and select some off there for my future reading.

Maybe you should do a post with the ones that you are missing in case I have any of them (well if any of my 5 are any good to you! :rotfl:).

I am on facebook - I have pm'd you. I think that virtual bookshelf sounds like something I may have looked at at some point or another on facebook.

Sometimes it is quite soul destroying when it is only me and OH that know about our debt, as he thinks its a man thing and therefore we don't need to talk about it, just deal with it. And when we are dealing with it, there is no need to keep talking about it - I can kind of see his logic but I get things done better when I keep that motivation going by talking about it.

I can honestly say that I have had my LBM and am not just playing at fighting debt, but find it really hard and easily find myself distracted and compulsive. Just yesterday I nearly convinced myself that our caravan was on her last legs and we would have to spend another £5,250 to get another one  The voice of reason kicked in luckily and now I sit here and think how easily I did get myself into debt when I make such rash decisions. We gave her a damn good cleaning on the inside and out, replaced a damp panel where we had a leak (I say "we" it is the royal we! :rotfl:) and she is good as new. Now just looking forward to heading off in the morning. Only thing is, not having any wi-fi I will not be able to MSE for 10 days - I will definitely be getting withdrawal symptoms!

    Keep up the good work!

I've added you (I think :rotfl:) Hope you have a fantastic holiday! I'm off now til Tuesday, so really pleased about that.

I really enjoyed Under the Dome, it was like old-style King. You sound like me - I don't pack an outfit for every occasion, I pack a book for every occasion! :D:rotfl:

I do have a list of the ones I need, as I carry it with me so I know what to buy. I'll dig it out and post it on here - it's on my work laptop though so will be next week sometime. I'm really pleased I started reading it though - I've read so many things and loved them that I would not have touched previously.

The most gutting thing happened though - I was updating my amazon wishlist with all the ones I need, and there is one book that does not seem to be available anywhere! I'm going to get to 1000, and not be able to finish  That is going to be soooo annoying! It's taken me a good 3 years to get this far...

It really is hard when you are secretly debtbusting - if someone asks you to do something and you don't really want to because you know the money would be better off going to your debts, but equally you don't want to explain why you don't want to do something.

I am serious about the debtbusting, but if I do have money, I do find that the old temptations are coming back. It does worry me that I will fall back into old habits, but I really hope not, and I think I have learned my lesson. The thought that £700 per month could be mine if I didn't have any debts keeps me focussed at the moment.

Oh jwil, just had to share! I have solved my honeymoon book-packing problem...OH ordered me a kindle!! :D I am so giddy about it it's unreal! What a geek! I bet for the first wee while I don't finish one book because I'll be so excited about downloading them all (loads of classics are free) and reading the first page!

I know what you mean about the 'secret debtbusting'. A few times with friends I've suggested going shopping together...I then just kinda pretend that I haven't found anything I like to buy :o It's really just cos I've paid for the bus and probably factored in a lunch out so I don't want to buy anything else... :o

Hi Skysky, at least you've got us to talk to even if OH doesn't want to chat ;) Have you got a diary? I find that a good place for my waffle... :)

    Night all...so sleepy...

Happy holidays jwil. Have a lovely time.

Wow! That is brilliant! Yay to your OH - what a sweetie. You'll have to let me know what you think of the kindle, there is such a benefit to not having to lug loads of books around with you.

I'm not off anywhere, but my Mum is down, so I'm meeting with her, my sister, niece and nephew. Can't wait!

Well I'm shattered, but have had a lovely couple of days so it's been grand. Am going to have a quieter day tomorrow, and get on with the decluttering. I shall try and update my list then too. Fingers crossed I get to the 300 items!

Me and DH pulled out the rest of the New Scientist magazines from the loft yesterday - it was about half as high as me lol! They are the first target, so it will be good once they are gone. There are a load of physics magazines in there too, so they will probably be too intellectual for me, and it won't take me long to flick through those!

Hi jwil! I worked out how to subscribe :j

I'm REALLY impressed with your ebay efforts. I'm planning to redouble mine over the weekend. I sold 6 things last weekend and am still waiting for 1 buyer to pay  so I can transfer the money to my bank account then off a CC...

I'm a reader too, but a big wimp, so Stephen King is out. My OH recently read Cujo and I didn't even like looking at the cover :rotfl:

Hi Humble, thanks for popping in! I hate ebaying with a vengeance, but it is worth it when the money comes in and the items go out :D It's got to be done to help clear this house unfortunately.

I've got another 8 items selling at the moment so am happy again!

I first started reading Stephen King when I was a teenager and got so scared I had to put the book down :rotfl: I finally got back to it a few years later and really enjoyed it. Cujo is brilliant but very troubling. The thing with a lot of Stephen King books is that they just might be able to happen so it gives you something to think about.

What sort of things do you like reading?

I've really enjoyed today, me and DH have been sorting and decluttering. Another 50 odd items are ready to go/gone and I'll flick through a couple of more magazines tonight.

We had planned on doing a car boot tomorrow, but we are both kind of not feeling like it, so we'll probably just go and have a look instead. Not very MSE I know!

I've sorted out the dining room today, tidied the books away and had a look through what I've got. I found a few duplicates which I've listed on amazon. All of this means I can see the floor again! It's still very cluttered, but looking a lot tidier. I've also been sorting through some of the bits that we inherited and tidying things away.

One of the problems we have in this house is that there is so much clutter we can't find things. My aim is to have 'a place for everything, and everything in it's place'. So I feel like what I've been doing today is moving towards that.

Off to have a shower before the X Factor. Have a good weekend everyone!

Woo hoo! Another 14 items sold on ebay over the last 2 days, so that's a bit more to the decluttering!

I did buy another load of books this morning though - I should really stop going booting!
