Hi Svb, I've been buying a right mixture of books lol. I've just finished reading Jonathan Kellerman - Twisted, which I quite enjoyed, and I'm just about to start Fairytale of New York by Miranda Dickinson - I need something light and fluffy at the moment.

What about you - reading anything good recently?

:(:( Really fed up today, it's payday and I've got no money left. :(:( There is loads on this month, we are supposed to be going away at the end of the month and I can't afford it :(:(

My debt is just going to go up over the next few months and I can't do anything about it. :(

Anyone guess I'm feeling sorry for myself? :rotfl:

Right, need to get my !!!! in gear.

Somehow I want to raise: £1800 + £750 + £1000 = £3550 by the end of this month. (That's a want, not a need by the way, though I could really do with it all, to get me back on track). That's £829 per week.:eek::eek: Probably an impossible dream, but it may focus me to make the effort.

I have £250 which I would normally pay towards this anyway, so that is £250/£3550 = £3300 left to find.

Obviously I will be trying to ebay and amazon as much as possible, but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be grateful to hear them. (I'll also keep playing the lottery :p).

    Wish me luck!

DH and I are off to the cinema in a minute, we have freebie tickets from See Film First, so looking forward to that. It is the new Jennifer Aniston film, so hopefully will be a good laugh.

    Have a good evening everyone!

Well the freebie film was full when we got there, that was darned annoying! So we decided to watch The Expendables instead. It was enjoyable enough but definitely macho man film! It was a bit annoying that our free night out turned into a spend, but we had a voucher so only had to pay for one ticket, and we got another voucher given to us for a 2 4 1 in September too, so we'll be able to go again soon.

Oooh, I've just sold a book on Amazon, yay! That's another £5.04 to the total.

Also, I've just been sent a £25 amazon gift certificate from a survey company so that has been spent :D I can't use it towards the debt repayments, but will read the books I bought hopefully fairly quickly and get them relisted on there again.

Nothing to add yet to the fundraising. I'm trying to get a load listed on ebay so hopefully that will bring in some more. It's sooo boring though, getting it all listed!

I've got 34 items on turbolister to go on ebay later. If they all sell, and if they all sell for minimum bid, then that should net me around £140 which isn't too bad. We shall see though.

I'm off now to update some of my listings already on there - I've got loads of books with no photos, so going to add some photos and see if that bumps up the sales a bit. Otherwise they will be off to boot sale, as they've been on there for ages.

Another 10 items have sold on ebay, yay! Once I figure out what I've got for them I shall update my siggie.

It's DH's birthday today, so I ordered him a pressie online. It was due to be delivered today, so I left a note on the door asking them to leave it in a safe place, and get home to find they haven't bothered! They said it didn't fit! It must be a huge parcel then, and now I've got to drive 20 miles tomorrow to collect it as I won't be able to rearrange delivery for next week as I'll be at work again! I wish they'd just use royal mail, it's no distance at all to the sorting office!

  • Well I am back from my holiday refreshed and ready to carry on with my debt busting. I didn't buy too many books on holiday (only the rest of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan - but two of these were from the carboot and the last two were buy 1 get 1 free at Tesco and were out of my holiday spending money that I had allocated! :D). I also succummed to a bogof for the first two twilight books as I had wanted them for ages and have never found any of them at carboots so with my spending money I thought "sod it". Bit of a bummer as the day we went on holiday the wind was dreadful and when you are towing a caravan, not only does it mean that you have to drive a hell of a lot slower, the fact that we were driving into the wind meant that we used a whole tank of fuel to get there  (bye bye £70.00) but it was lovely with lots of walks and free days out so worth it when we got there!

Crash back down to reality tomorrow though as we have not had a fridge for the whole time we were away as it stopped working so we are having to take that to the caravan place tomorrow and they are going to have a look at it for us (I will try not to add £5.5k to the debt by trying to purchase a new van again :o).

Managed to read 3 Percy Jackson books whilst I was away which I was quite pleased with as I read the Times every day from cover to cover (apart from the Sport :p) - look at me pretending to be posh :rotfl:
