Hi jwil, just put my ticket on for tonight's lotto ;)

Have fun with your MBTs. I've got the sketchers shape ups. Dead comfy for wearing to work. 50 min walk a day so they've been well and truly tried and tested :)

    Me too La E :D

I'm surprised at just how comfy the MBTs are, so they should get plenty of use!

Thanks for saying I'm an inspiration :o, I'm not so sure, but I find other people's diaries so inspiring.

We had a good weekend, it was nice to have a few days away.

I've sold another book on amazon, so that's £4.10 to add to my total.

It was free listing on ebay this weekend, so when I got home last night, I relisted everything I have on there. I still haven't put anything new on though, so I must get round to that.

Just looked at my total for the pay off as much as you can challenge and I'm £80 away from having paid off £4,000. So tonight, I am going to see if I can scrape up enough to pay that £80 off. I didn't spend too much over the weekend, so I'll need to check how much I have left in my accounts and see if I have £80. It's 10 days til payday, but I have enough cash to see me through, so whatever is left can go towards my debts. Woo hoo! :T

We were having a book sale in the office to raise money for Comic Relief. Guess who has spent £9 on books :p and there are still a couple left I have my eye on.

We did find a boot sale while we were away over the weekend too, so I may have purchased 7 books there too :o:o My book piles are not reducing at all :rotfl:

Well I scraped together £85 so have now paid over £4000 now towards the debt. :T

Very pleased with that. I'm also £150 away from clearing my MBNA card and will be saying goodbye to that one asap. I can't wait :j

DH is on a downer again today, so that's a bit of a shame. Hopefully he will be better when I get home. I did suggest to him that the clutter was probably dragging him down a lot too. I'm a firm believer that a cluttered house is a cluttered mind, and it stresses me out a lot. Last night I was trying to wrap a parcel, and to get to various bits, had to move piles of stuff out of the way. I hate living like this.

I'm trying to think of ways to raise the £150 to clear my MBNA card. It's suspended anyway, so I can't use it, and I just want to get shot of it. I will be able to do it next week when I get paid, but I want to see it gone! Once it's closed, that would be £9500 of 'available credit' gone! :j

  • Wow Jwil, that must be really nice to be that close to closing one of your cards. Good for you! :j

And I totally know what you mean about clutter - I can't stand it either. I'm a champion packer (I can get more into a suitcase than anyone I know- not always so helpful when you can't lift the bag afterwards :rotfl:) so I tuck things I don't use often away in corners and under beds so I don't have to look at it. Great most of the time, but can lead to "can I really be bothered to get out the sewing machine/drill/hammer and do that job"!

I am very excited about closing the card, that particular one has been the bane of my life for a couple of years. Before I managed to get the 0% card, I was paying £250 a month and only £5 was reducing my balance. It seemed like I would never get there with that one. It was my most expensive plus my highest balance, so even snowballing it made me feel like I wasn't getting anywhere.

I'm pretty good at tucking things away too. But the problem at the moment is there is that much, that it encroaches on the general living space too. That is what bothers me more than anything. Piles of stuff on the floor, boxes stacked in the extension. It's very annoying.
