I've been working from home today, so have been supervising DH doing some sorting out :rotfl:. He has now sorted a pile of bits to go on ebay ( still need photos) and a load of other bits for booting. We will try and do another boot sale this weekend if the weather is good.
I've also got enough points on bingoport to redeem again this week, woo hoo!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
 The flush has now broken on the toilet, and the internal front door won't latch. The flush should be fixable and the lock probably will be too, and it doesn't matter too much as there is an external front door anyway, but even so, grrr.....
Euromillions win would definitely be good today!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Fingers crossed you can get all the bits and pieces fixed around the house jwil.
With you on the euromillions! I'll split my jackpot win with you if you split yours with me!0 -
Sounds like a plan La Escocesa!
I'm feeling motivated this afternoon so am planning on getting stuck in this weekend. The little jobs around the house are not getting done because of the clutter. I hate having to move a load of stuff before I can do anything, and unfortunately this is what the house is like at the moment.
It's easy to be motivated when you are not in the house though :rotfl:
I WILL achieve stuff this weekend - I think I'm going to set a target of 50 items to get rid of by Monday.
Have a good weekend everyone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
No darned Euromillions win for me, and as the jackpot wasn't won, I guess I'm not claiming half of yours La Escocesa :rotfl:
90 million next week - that'll do me for a couple of days
I'm not getting on with the great declutter, I've managed 5 items so far.
I have however booked a couple of nights away in Yorkshire next weekend, as I'm going up for this work thing on Friday, and so DH and I will make a weekend of it. I'm really looking forward to it! :j
I shan't be listing anything on ebay this weekend as we won't be here next weekend, but I am planning on doing some sorting out anyway to get stuff ready.
If the weather stays dry we are still hoping to do a boot sale tomorrow, so we shall see there.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Jwil, good luck with the decluttering....that is my current mission.
It can be very daunting but small steps will get it done (that's what I tell myself)

Thanks o2bfree. Unfortunately I failed miserably with my challenge
I managed to get rid of 17 items, though we did do a boot sale yesterday and sold more than 50 items thereIt doesn't technically count though as it was stuff that was already allocated to go.
My list:
1. Junk mail to recycling
2. book to boot sale
3. magazine to recycling
4-6. broken dog toys to bin
7. book to boot sale
8. magazine to recycling
9-12. holey undies to fabric recycling
13-14. books to boot sale
15-16. toiletries used up and to recycling
17. book to recycling (water damaged so not suitable for boot sale or charity).
I also had some good bargains yesterday at the boot sale (only 2 books).
I got some MBT trainers (the ones that tone you while you are walking) for £10 :T They are hardly used and retail at £140 odd. I've always wanted some but didn't want to spend that amount of money on something which I was sceptical whether they would work or not.
They are black so I can wear them at work too. They are really comfortable surprisingly, though it's a bit weird if I get up too quickly as I forget I am wearing them.
I also got 3 large kilner jars for £2, so am pleased with those as they may help keep my cupboards a bit tidier rather than having things like pasta, rice, couscous and lentils spilling out everywhere."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Oh, I won £2.50 on the lottery again last night! Quite liking this new game, though I wish they'd add some more 0's on to my winnings :rotfl:
Anyway, I've paid my winnings towards my credit card plus a top up to make £9 to round off the balance.
However, I've just realised that it's given me an overall balance of £176,101 so that's going to annoy me and I'm going to have to find another £2 to get me down into the lower bracket. Ideally I need to find £102 to get me into the £175k's."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
With my credit card dd coming out today and some more rounding down, I am now in the £175k's for debt and mortgage.
My 'official' debt is now £35,069 which is going to annoy me now, so I'm going to have to try and find £70 to get me into the £34k's.
It's still over 2 weeks to payday though, so maybe I'll try and get some bits on ebay next week.
Reminds me, I sold 2 items for £4.98 the other day so that's a little bit more to the total.
We are off to Yorskshire tomorrow for a couple of days, so I'm really looking forward to that.
Hope everyone is well!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
