Hi there Jwil
just a quick note to say that I am thinking and praying for you. Depression is a nightmare to live with and it must be very painful to see your husband so down. It takes its toll on you too. He is blessed to have you. God bless"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

Thanks karmachi, my alone time is really important to me, I'm really antisocial :rotfl:
Well, I wouldn't call it anti-social - I too like a lot of alone time, particularly first thing in the morning. My DH works from home and so do I (though I am looking to change that) and I love it on the days when he's away on business - I feel so much more free. I just love it when I wave my kids off to school (much as I adore them) and have the house to myself.
I wonder if it is possible to persuade your OH to try going for a long walk now and again. I know it's difficult with depression because there is no motivation to do anything at all. But something like a long walk would probably make him feel better and it would help you as well.
I honestly don't know how these couples who work together do it - you're together all day every day - how do they not end up at each other's throats? There is absolutely NO WAY I could do it!
Hang in there Jwil, you are being wonderful as always. Somehow you need to find a way to not to let your OH's depression drag you down as well, you are under enough stress as it is.0 -

Thanks ebayqueen, it is really hard, but we will get there!peaceandfreedom wrote: »Well, I wouldn't call it anti-social - I too like a lot of alone time, particularly first thing in the morning. It's funny, because DH is the only person I have ever been able to spend long periods of time with. Before I met him, I didn't think I would ever get married or live with someone as I couldn't handle it.
He does go out twice a day to take the dog for long walks, however, he does it when I'm at work. The bit of space I had last week, really did make a difference, so I've been feeling a bit better.
He called the Samaritans last week, and had a chat with them which I think helped. Also, I think the anti-depressants are starting to kick in a bit as although he's still depressed, things haven't been quite so hopeless for him, and he's had a bit more get up and go. He's got an appointment for counselling this week, where they determine whether he needs it or not! So hopefully that will get things moving, though it's likely to be 6 months before anything happens there.
It's been really lovely having the support from everyone on here :A. I'm not a big talker, so tend to bottle things up. It helps me to let off steam on here."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
It's payday today, so I've paid off a bit more. I think my loan payments start this month, so I think that will come out in the next couple of days. Rather annoyingly, they haven't given me a specific date, just told me it will be 2 months after it started. The loan agreement was the start of the month, but I didn't receive the cash til towards the middle, so I just have to wait and see what date they take it.
DH got paid pretty much as normal this month, so from next month things will get harder. This really needs to focus me on getting some extra income in so I can keep my debts going down. I've sold a book on amazon today, and one yesterday, so it's a start, but I need to do more!
I didn't take advantage of the free listing this weekend, but I did relist everything I had on there. MUST DO BETTER!
Hope everyone is well!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
3 of my ebay items are selling at the moment, so I'm pleased with that.
DH is still up and down like a yoyo, but he has his assessment for counselling tomorrow, so hopefully we'll have an idea after that. If the waiting list is too long, I think we might look into looking for a private counsellor, to get things moving.
I've been asked to go on a work visit near Durham in a couple of weeks. It's only a one day thing, but the timings are awkward so it's going to be easier to drive.
We are thinking about DH driving me up there, entertaining himself whilst I am working, and then making a weekend of it, by staying over for a night or two. Work will cover the fuel to and from the venue, so it will only cost the accommodation, food and any extra fuel. I think it will do us both good to get away for a couple of days, so we shall see how that pans out."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well my loan payment has come out today, so pleased with that. That's my debt reduced by £324 straight away as the interest is all included in the total. It's a nice chunk to knock off. I'm hoping to get some more paid off this month too.
Got a £5 amazon voucher from bingoport this morning, and have won a couple of games which means I can redeem another one next week too! :j
DH managed to get some stuff sorted out yesterday, so we've got another pile to go booting and some more bits to get listed on ebay.
I listed a couple of items on amazon yesterday as well, but I'm not expecting them to sell any time soon."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Thanks La Escocesa, it's a nice feeling seeing those ££s going down properly now.
I'm sure we will get there, I just need to convince DH that all will be ok!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
