DH had a letter from his employers asking him to contact them so he did, and went back yesterday albeit to a lower role (his request). However, he's on disciplinary for gross misconduct as a result of walking out, and so there is a good chance he will be sacked. He's up and down, and doesn't know what to do.

He hasn't gone in today, and I've sent him to the docs and he's been signed off for two weeks which gives him some breathing space. He is concerned that if he leaves, he will not get another job (there is very little around here at the moment), but if he stays he is more than likely going to get sacked anyway.

I think he needs to leave and take time out to sort out his depression. That is what is holding him back at the moment, and affecting his confidence. The constant negativity is so wearing me down, and it's that which among everything else is causing my anxiety and stress problems. He's agreed that enough is enough, and he knows it is affecting my health, so I'm hoping that this time we can tackle it properly. I want my lovely hubby back :(

    Hi jwil,

That must be really tough for you and your hubby. But like you say, now he's off for a couple of weeks he's got some breathing space.

I hope over the next couple of weeks things start improving for you.

My OH has been out of work since September and in the past couple of weeks he's started to get more down about it, especially the days he doesn't get out the flat.

    Thinking about you. :grouphug:

Thanks La E, he seems a bit better this morning, though is still worrying about the money side of things. Fingers crossed he will get better over the next couple of weeks.

I've got next week off too, and so we are determined to have a break as we normally would, and then think about things after.

That's a good idea if you can manage to switch off a bit. It's a tricky situation your OH is in now. Just walking away permanently is one thing but walking away and coming back again is a bit different. Maybe with the week off you have, he can spend some time coming to a clear decision on what he wants to do next. There is no point in continuing in a job that is making him depressed and ill, and therefore making you stressed and ill as well. That's no life. His employers don't sound like a very sympathetic bunch either.

Good luck to you both, and Jwil, you are doing brilliantly, hang in there.:)

    Well done!

I decided to pack in using Maximiles panels yesterday. Every time they send me a survey I spend a few minutes doing the first bit then they say their quota is full or I don't fit the profile. Fed up of it and their 'rewards' are costing more and more points. So I ordered a memory stick with the points I have and I'm not bothering any more.

I need to spend my time more productively rather than filling in surveys at about £1.50 an hour. :D

Thanks peaceandfreedom, I think he is going to quit officially now. He's got this couple of weeks to have some breathing space, and we were both due to be off next week anyway, so we'll have that as planned.

I do keep trying to tell him that no amount of money is worth doing a job you hate for - we have no decent breaks because he's always worried/stressed about it. I think the message is getting through slowly.

It's a bit difficult for me, because his company is a contractor for my employer - so I have a lot of contact with his bosses and work with them a lot. I've always been very careful to keep things professional and I do not get involved, but it is hard when I know how badly they treat their staff.

Well my numpty ebay buyer from the other day who left me neutral because the item was smaller than expected, has today sent me a message asking where the item is, because she hasn't received it yet!!:mad::mad:

I am so annoyed about this. I replied saying as she left me neutral feedback the other day, I believe she has received it. I'll see how she replies now. She was blocked the other day for being a numpty, it's so frustrating that sellers have no come back for idiot buyers.:(

I've never heard of maximiles, so won't be joining them. I don't think the ones I do use pay particularly well if I really worked it out, but I don't mind doing them as they keep me in amazon purchases and help me get my spending fix.:p (Says her that may have just bought some books with her bingoport voucher).
