Oh I nearly forgot, yesterday I had a nightmare with Santander :mad:

The loan I paid off last month - I had the statement showing that the payment had been taken, and I was now in credit for £54.

I had a phone call yesterday on my mobile - it was their collection dept saying that I hadn't paid my monthly payment (glad I cancelled the DD!). I said I didn't owe anything as I had settled it last month, and in fact, they owed me money. They weren't having any of it, so I dug out the statement and read it out to them. Eventually, they managed to find it, and said that the payment hadn't been applied to the loan yet! So that made me rather mad, anyway, she said they'd sort it out, and I said they'd better not put a late/missed payment on my account. They said no etc, etc, and off I toddled.

5 minutes later, the landline rang - it was Santander again! Different person, wanting my security details again - I said I wasn't really interested as I'd just spent 20 minutes on the phone to them and it was wasting my time. The lady asks me which department I was talking to, and I said collections - she goes 'oh really?' as she was from the same dept! I was rather miffed by then, so simply said I did not owe them any money, in fact they owe me money, and pretty much hung up.

10 minutes later the phone rings again!! Yes, it's them again, same dept same problem. Apparently, their 'systems' are causing them problems. I was getting rather rude by then, I must confess.

10 minutes later..... yep the phone rings again. I was in the loo, so missed the call, but did 1471 and yes, it was them again!!:mad: Luckily, that was the last time, otherwise I think I really would have flipped!

In any case, I think they will be getting a strongly worded letter from me, complaining about that, asking where my £54 is, and looking for confirmation that they have closed the account (even though I asked for this when I sent the cheque in), and I shall be keeping a close eye on my credit report.

I always knew they had a shocking rep for customer service, which is partly why I wanted to close the account, but I shall certainly not go with them for anything else.

Well, myself and my daughter have had a productive afternoon starting to sort out the loft. We cleared out loads of bags of rubbish and boxes of stuff to recycle and a couple of boxes of stuff to ebay. Unfortunately, as i'm still not well, i'm afraid i overdid it and now i'm laid up on the sofa feeling rather worse than I was before :o fingers crossed the doctor will be able to sort me out tomorrow.
My husband is with Santander for one of his accounts-I shall warn him to get rid of his card asap-he doesn't spend on it anyway, but he's dragging his heels with getting it paid off.

I've decided that I am going to totalise my ebay and amazon sales in my signature, rather than have monthly targets this year. See how much I really manage to sell throughout the year. I'll probably add on my amazon vouchers earned through surveys and bingoport too to see how much it pays off for me.

Hey Jwil  Its been a while since I popped in to say hi, it sounds like you're going great guns so far and you certainly have the most popular challenge thread going!

I like the idea of keeping a running total of eBay and Amazon sales in your signature, I might do the same (although my sig is pretty "busy" as it is). Do you take off fees and postage from the total?

Well done on the sorting tattycath, but sorry you are not well. Hope the doc can help you out today.

    Hi Copperjar!

I don't count the fees and postage in my totals below, as I pay for them out of my general spending money that I allocate myself each month, I then treat the cash from ebay and amazon as extra. That probably doesn't make any sense to anyone but me :p but it works for me. I stock up on stamps at Superdrug when they are on offer, so I often use them, and it's money I've already spent, so I don't count it again.

Nasty. Hope you feel better soon tattycath. Good luck with the listing though, ebay sales seem to be doing quite well at the moment, so fingers crossed!
