I've been a bit naughty this morning. My loan isn't showing on my credit record yet, but the payments I've made to the other debts have. So I figured I'd sneakily apply for a 0% credit card to balance transfer the ones that are left. I got accepted :j They reckon my balance will be 'around £5k' so that will be enough for my biggest balance and a bit more. I won't believe it til I see it, but if it does come off, I'll be very happy.

I'm now wondering whether it's worth trying for another one, then I would have all of my debt on 0% apart from the loan. That might be pushing my luck too much though.

:D:D I'm quite excited actually, I don't think I've ever been accepted for a 0% card before. That's why I won't believe it until I actually see it!

Sorry to hear you and your DDs are not very well tattycath, there's so much going around at the moment.

I'm not doing too well with the decluttering, but need to get motivated again. Actually I'm doing quite well with the book decluttering actually :p as I'm sitting around reading all the time :D

I'm working from home on Thursday and need to be up by 7am in case a delivery arrives. So I am hoping that if I can get myself organised, I might get a few things on ebay before I start work.

I lurk on so many threads it really is hard to keep up with them all!

Well I did it! I've applied and been accepted for another 0% card with a limit of £3500. That's not quite enough for all of it, but it means that if it all goes through ok, the majority of my debt (except the loan) should be on 0% for 12 months.

I still won't believe it til it happens, but fingers crossed all will be ok!

I've also sold another book on amazon for £13.86 woo hoo! :j

Just finished reading your diary jwil, it's fab ! I don't know where you find the energy for all that ebaying/amazoning :D

I think you've made the right decision with consolidating too, it's astounding how much interest you'll be saving by doing so . Great news about the 0% too, wish I could get one of those !

Reading your diary inspired me to start reading again, I'm 2 books down this week so far, and have stared my third. I'm into most genres, crime, chick flick, historical fiction (just finished reading the White Queen and loved it!) etc etc.

I think I might have to join the local library though, I haven't got the room for hundreds of books :o

Yay! Majjak, you're still awake :D:rotfl::D Thanks for the lovely comments though:o I'm not sure where I find the energy either because I'm a lazy so and so. It's just doing my head in so it has to go.

I was so surprised by the 0%s I've never been accepted before, so that's why I won't believe it until it's done.

Wotcha reading? :p The White Queen - is that Phillippa Gregory? I've not read any of hers, though DH bought one home the other day, so looks like I will be in the future. I'll give anything a go. The other day I read 'The Killer Underpants' and 'Nudie Dudie' :rotfl: Both childrens books that DH picked up. Nowt wrong with that I say!

I'm reading 'The other Half Lives' by Sophie Hannah at the moment, it's quite good, but I'm struggling to like any of the characters in it!

Hmmm... I haven't got room for hundreds of books either - that's my big problem :o Hence my book avalanche the other day!

Well I didn't get any listing done this morning. I was up nice and early but wasn't in the mood, so just started working instead. My DH is in a huge strop for some reason and ignoring me all because he came home in a bad mood last night and I told him off for biting my head off. Really bugs me! Bloody men!

I nearly told him to sort out his own chair delivery today, but didn't. Once it turned up though, I have gone into the office instead as the internet at home was playing up.

  • Hey jwil,

check in after a major absence (!) and thought I'd see how you're getting on - seems pretty well. I'm quite jealous of your 0% card - I've tried for a few, a couple of times a year so I don't have stack of nonsense on my credit rating, but never sucessful *sigh*

I'm also impressed that you've made such a dent into your £14K target for the year too. Keep on going!
