Forgot to mention, one of my 0% ccs turned up on Saturday, woo hoo! So have requested transfer of 1.5 balances to that card. I got the pin for the other card too, so hopefully that will arrive soon too. I want the other one to come most of all, because that has enough to clear my biggest, most expensive card (30+%). It will be sooo good to see the back of MBNA!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Fab news about the cards arriving :T
My balance transfer went through too!
I think we deserve a  or even a :coffee:
PS - and so what if you bought a few books out booting - you'll eventually sell them all on so really you're just looking after them for a while

Hey jwil,
Congratulations on the CCs. Can I ask who they're with? I'm thinking I will try again this month.
And well done on all your selling - I need to crack out my eBay account (in a good way!)Total debt: [STRIKE]£9473.62[/STRIKE] £7,384.87 22% PAIDTAF #25 NSD 8/12 | Food £43.45/£50 | eBay 0/20 | Exercise 5/18:T Proud to be Dealing with my Debt :TDFD: June 20150 -
Hi there Jwil and congrats on getting those cards through:j:j:j
I will apply at some point but knowing I have more outgoings than income month in month out kinda puts me off
I was thinking of suggesting some sort of e-bay challenge but at the moment it's a challenge finding anything for me to list.

:jYay to your balance transfer arriving too :j
That's very true about the books, the only problem is I buy them faster than I can read them so the pile keeps going up rather than down
Hey, it means I'll have an income from my books for a long time yet I suppose

Hey Karma, thanks! The cards are with Sainsburys and Egg. I also tried Tesco but they offered me a hefty £400 credit limit :rotfl:so I didn't proceed.DedicatedDFW wrote: »Hi there Jwil and congrats on getting those cards through:j:j:j

Thanks DDFW, it was only because for a short period of time my borrowing on my credit rating was looking a lot lower than it was. The new loan is showing on there now, so if I applied today, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get accepted. I'm so glad I gave it a shot though, it should help a lot. (Even more if I stop buying books)
An ebay challenge sounds good, I've been mainly relisting recently, so need to get on with it. I also want to put some more books on amazon.
Ok - how about this - your challenge is to find 5 things to list, mine is to list at least 5 things this week. :A"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Rant alert - I get really annoyed when people call me by the wrong name. Two members of the Senior management team have called me the wrong name in the last week, even after the fact that last week when we were in a course and doing some silly icebreaking exercise I said that this is something that really bugs me. One of them has known me for over 7 years and directly hired me so there is no excuse.
It's like someone called 'Ann' being called 'Anna' or vice versa. It's not the same name! If I am 'Ann' (not my real name), they keep calling me 'Anna'. There is an 'Anna' who works with us, but IS NOT ME! They don't call her 'Ann'.
I'm probably completely overreacting, but I just find it a little disrespectful. They are supposed to work pretty closely with me, but can't be bothered to make an effort to get my name right. Both recent incidents have been in replies to emails which clearly state my name!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi Jwil - yep i will join in this challenge - i did list 3 things yesterday but won't count these as I'd be over half way there :rotfl::rotfl:Motivates me to find more than the 1 thing I know I can list tonight
Yes, I know what you mean with the name thing - I get my name spelt incorrectly all the time - I mean even when I am having a review with my manager and I guess I do take it to heart when i think 'well, they can't really be all that bothered about me when they continue to spell my name wrong...'
Ho hum. Chin up jwil. hope the day gets better for you xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

You are not over-reacting, it IS very annoying. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to remember someone's name properly.
People are always spelling my name wrongly - people who have known me for years and have had lots of things from me with my name on.
In replies to emails, it is downright lazy - an email has my name on in several places, there is no excuse.
Jwil, I feel your pain!0 -
:mad:!!!!!!. Santander have put a late payment on my credit report - after they assured me they would not. ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH:mad::mad:
Also, according to that, my account is £6 in credit still!

This is EXACTLY what I think, it's quite disheartening.peaceandfreedom wrote: »You are not over-reacting, it IS very annoying. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to remember someone's name properly.
