    Hi jwil and peaceandfreedom :D

We can all share ideas for the moneymaking and getting the debt down guys :cool:Sometimes its not so much making money as spending less, using what we've got to better effect - like when we shared recipes a couple of weeks ago and how we were saying by meal planning and being prepared for meals it saves spending at the shops on something thats quick and easy  or wasting food that we have in :o *guilty as charged*

jwil - i am really sorry, i didn't mean to miss you out in 'the race' :o its just i'm not sure what your debt is hon :o

So in the spirit of sharing moneymaking i have been listing on e-bay - though not selling much :o and i applied for my last credit card through a cashback site :T Should be netting me £50 soon i hope :D

Also, i had hoped to be debt free by this birthday and as i've not managed that and its unlikely i'll have paid off thousands by the end of the year :( then my target naturally shifts to my next birthday. It will still take some doing though ;)

jwil i particularly like your idea of us all winning the lottery :T:T:T

i also like the classics :) currently though i am reading patrick mccabe's the dead school

Hope you've all enjoyed a nice weekend :)

It's more that my debt is much bigger than yours so I've got many years to go sadly :( Race away - it's good to see any paid off! :)

My ebay listings are not doing well so I need to find some more stuff. I've sold two items on ebay and another book on amazon so that's a start, but it's not enough to break even this month.

DH's stuff that he sold on ebay went for over £200 :j:eek: Not bad for a £10 lot that he kept most of!

I haven't made my pad today, I'm a bit concerned about my finances this month, so need to think things through. The van is in for MOT, so that's another expense due. Fingers crossed there won't be anything untoward.

I'm switching off the computer tonight, absolutely shattered and feeling rough. With DH selling a lot at the moment as well, I seem to be on the computer all of the time. I haven't done BP for a while so need to get back to that, though not tonight.

Awww, DH has just given me his last Rolo :smileyhea He has also got some tickets to see Jimmy Carr so that will be a very rare evening out for us both. Should be funny, I've never seen a stand up before so it will be a nice change. :)

Well, signing off for the night now, have a good evening everyone

Hope you have a nice peaceful evening, Jwil. :)

I have made a small start today by listing something (just the one thing!) on ebay. I am seeking ways to make extra payments because I really want to see that DFD get closer and closer. I'm on a mission!

Jimmy Carr should be good, something to look forward to, I hear he involves the audience a lot in his shows, should be fun. :T

Hi all - i am completely exhausted :( must book back in with the docs but the last 2 times i've been i've simply been told oh thats fine if you feel so tired you could collapse we'll just keep plodding on until the tablets are right  oh dear! Its just that today has been a day where i've felt i could have stayed in bed for the whole day and not felt any better for it *sob* it was also a huge effort to get up and get to work and i obviously don't want any problems there either :( Sorry for complaining :o

jwil - debt is all relative really so even if you owe a larger amount than me you probably have more money that you can throw at it too

Your night out sounds like it will be fab :D and well done to your hubby for his fab sales :T

Yes its a good idea to take a step back and take stock of finances etc. - hope all is okay for you - after paying my huge bill i am also on a very tight month

peaceand freedom well done on getting an item listed on e-bay - i have some more bits to list but with working all weekend i didn't get the time and won't have any 'free time' until this weekend - seems like i'm wishing my days away until weekends / paydays and then its all about the debt. In this way i also need to step back and start trying to get a job closer to home so i get a better balance where i can have a bit of a life as well as getting the bills paid  Really need to get sorted with a better cv ...

    Take care all x

    Hi DDFW,

Sorry you're feeling so tired and that nothing seems to help. Do you eat a healthy diet? Sometimes, eliminating things like bread/sugary things and processed foods can have a marked affect on your energy levels.

Don't think of your weekends/paydays being about debt, think of them as being about moving closer to financial freedom and abundance. Watch your debt total go down and be happy. :)

For getting a job closer to home, start looking now, there's no time like the present. Would be nice to change jobs before the winter wouldn't it, travelling to work is always so much less pleasant in the cold and dark.

I can't believe the summer is almost over already. Where did it go? We didn't really have one though, weather-wise. I have realised we haven't had a single picnic, how bad is that? Must do something about that before it's all over for another year.

There's still September though, which can often be a good month. And it's full of lovely opportunities for blackberry gathering, jam-making, pickles and other nice things for those winter months. Might even squeeze in a picnic!

The other day I found myself thinking about mincemeat for Christmas - I ordered some ultra-cheap vegetable suet from Approved Foods. There, I've said it, the C-word!!!!:eek::D
  • Hope you're feeling much rested today jwil. I know from experience it's hard to fully relax when debt is on your mind all the time. You do do remarkably well on your Ebay and car boot sales but remember you have a life as well and sometimes it's good to do something for pure enjoyment.

I've had an Ebay sale and this time I didn't lose out on the postage costs. I'm learning. :rotfl:

I had a productive weekend as well, we have a plum tree in our garden (as well as pears and apples, cooking and eating) and made 4 two portioned crumbles and 3 jars of jam. :money:
