Have more stuff that could do with being listed but not quite sure I can be bothered today. Have lots of other things to be doing.
Well done on the sales, and great news about the vouchers too!
We managed to list 31 items yesterday and did all the relists too, so quite pleased about that."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Was it good?
Yes, it was good. Not as good as the books obviously, and being a bit of a potter nerd, some of the changes they made were a bit annoying, but when isn't that the case with a film from a book?
I think I need to watch it again though
I have all the books and also the audiobooks - frankly nothing beats Stephen Fry reading the books, he did a fantastic job of it, really capturing the emotion and tension. It's always my choice of listening at night when I'm stressed about something."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". We had the first 4 audiobooks (on cassette tape) but kind of gave up after that. The kids used to listen to them on long car journeys.
I like the Harry Potter stories but I don't particularly enjoy the quality of the writing, and this seemed to get worse as the books progress. I agree that the films can never capture the flavour of the books - I remember coming out of the very first film being faintly disappointed because it just didn't capture the atmosphere of the books, which I had been reading at night to the children.
I don't think we bought the books past Order of the Phoenix, or possibly even Goblet of Fire. By then, my oldest was perfectly able to read them herself and the others weren't that bothered.
You are right about Stephen Fry though, he does a marvellous job and never seems to lose enthusiasm for the story.0 -

Hope they all sell quickly. One day you will have an entirely decluttered house.
One day we will, (well kind of...) but there is still a LONG way to go. Most of those items were just little things out of DH's collection, so there is very little in the way of bulk going out of the house."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". The writing never bothered me. It rarely does - I think the only book that has really irritated me was the Twilight series. But it didn't stop me reading them.
I am one of the saddos that queued for the books at midnight. I always said I never would, then the first time my train from Summer School got back just before midnight so I thought I 'might as well', then each book after that I couldn't resist it

Hi everyone
jwil :j:j:j - for all those items listed on ebay well done you :T i am going to have to rethink my e-bay strategy - i am struggling for items to list so spend a while trying to find things and am then too tired to list them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - or if i then see how much the item sells for if its just 99p and the item IMHO is worth far more i'll put it to the carboot instead
Good to hear that you had a nice weekend jwil and that you are looking forward to going to the movies peaceandfreedom

Sorry to hear you're feeling run-down, DDFW. And there's always too much to do isn't there. I often wonder what it would be like to get up and have absolutely nothing to do, it's unimaginable.
And it is indeed very chilly, no heating on here either, just my Farmer Ned cardie.

Thanks, the ebay thing is going well when I get around to actually listing things. Will try to do a bit more soon but I'm so busy with work (which is a good thing - but there's just so much to shovel into my brain at the moment ).
Hope you managed to get a bit more rest, DDFW.0
