Totally agree. I know what to do, I know I need to do it, I just can't get my head in the right place.peaceandfreedom wrote: »I wonder if perhaps doing something like a meal plan for the week would help and then only buying what you need. If you are eating things that aren't helping, stop buying them.
That would definitely help. A lot of mine is disorganisation or sheer laziness.peaceandfreedom wrote: »If you are eating lots of high-sugar or junky things, you might want to try the diet I'm doing because it helps to ward off cravings for that sort of thing.
This is what I'm doing most of. I really need to sort this out so maybe your plan is one I should really look at.peaceandfreedom wrote: »Or you could just start off by not cutting food but making a vow to eat 6 or 7 fresh fruit/veg a day, for example and drinking lots of water.
I have tried that in the past, and did pretty well so ought to try and do that again. I need to sort out the snacking - particularly at work I think. It's too easy to reach for chocolate and crisps (I do have fruit too). Again, it's all about organisation.

Retiredandskint, just caught up on the PAD thread - well done on paying off a cc! :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Looks like it might be free listing on ebay again this weekend, can't open the email til I get home though.
The question is, do I wait for listing? I prefer Turbolister though so probably won't bother. I use the free listing weekends for relists though."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks. I'd like to say it was through hard work but in reality it was an endowment pay out that we didn't need for the mortgage. We've still managed to incur £90 interest charge even though it was all paid by the due date :mad:0 -
The good news is that I won a prize on the Lotto.
The bad news is it's only a tenner, so not exactly life-changing.
The even better news is that work is looking up, I have secured a new contract which will be ongoing for a little while and am quoting for more. Feeling quite positive about it all at the moment.
On the weight loss front, things have stalled for a bit, I did 'cheat' a bit at the weekend, nothing too bad but broke the rules a little. Also, it's defo time for some dyno-rod soup!!!0 -

That's so annoying about the interest, it always happens - you clear a balance then still get another bill, grrr! I wish they'd give you a settlement figure like you get with loans, it would then mean you could pay it all off in one go."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". That's great news about the job, fingers crossed you get some more in too! :T
Good luck with the dyno-rod soup, I'm sure it will get things erm.. moving again :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've managed to get a few things listed today for ebay, and also a load more listings ready which just need photos. These are all for DH, so the money's not mine, but the satisfaction of things leaving the house is!
I've paid £65.67 to a credit card today so that's me over £6k on the challenge this year :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Last month (?) I asked my catalogue to reduce my credit limit as I didn't need such a big one but wanted to keep it open for now and again. They did that. I've bought a couple of bits from there this month, got my statement yesterday and they've put it up again by £500!
How bloody stupid is that? Even with my purchases I wasn't anywhere near the credit limit, and I sent some of them back as well!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Just shows you that little has changed, despite the whole credit crunch thing - they still want people to spend and borrow like there's no tomorrow.0
