Then I have some proper work to finish before Monday. Also doing the Race for Life tomorrow but it's only 3 miles and I'll half walk/half jog as I haven't been out running for ages.
Hope you've had a good day in the garden peaceandfreedom. I've not done as much as I'd hoped, as we've been running around all over the place again (and more car problems grrrr....).
Good luck with the Race for life tomorrow. I did it a few years ago. If you want some sponsorship then PM me. DH had cancer the year we got together, so as with so many people, it's a cause close to my heart."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks Jwil. I have lots of family members who have had cancer, two have now died and I have several friends who've had it and survived. It's a horrible thing.
I haven't got a single sponsor yet for the Race for Life and I'm not sure why I keep doing it because I hate asking people for sponsorship. People are being asked to fork out all the time for this and that, it's too much especially when money is tight. I think I'll just send them 20 quid of my own and leave it at that. Thanks for your very sweet offer though.0 -

Oh no, about the car.
I've had a very productive day in the garden and my hands and back now ache. I got loads done now and I'm quite pleased with it. There's still loads to do. What makes me feel better is that a lot of the stuff I'm doing this year is re-landscaping, so it won't have to be done again next year. Next year, I just have to grow plants, which is my favourite bit of course.
I also did a bit of proper work this morning and will try to get another hour so in now after I've had something to eat (I think it'll just be fruit salad as it's so late now). Another pound in weight gone today though. :T0 -

No problem. Hope you don't get too wet!
The only thing I find about the Race for Life is that it is such a huge event, it is inevitable that you know several people who are taking part. Last year I think three people just in our office were doing it, as well as a number of friends and I felt so bad about refusing them sponsorship but I'd already sponsored a close friend, and couldn't afford to sponsor everyone!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done about the pound :T:j:T That's fantastic!
Glad you've had a good day in the garden and managed to get some work done too.
The car problems are annoying, but not too bad. DH has a second 'classic' car which he'd put a new battery on in the morning. We needed to go to the shops to get an ink cartridge for the computer, so took that. As we were on the way there the exhaust blew up  or something, so when we stopped we couldn't get it started again. Then he managed it and we then cut out again by one of the busiest roundabouts in town. We did manage to get going again, but it was a stressful moment, and we were on a knife edge as to whether we'd get back home again in time to meet the people we had arranged to!
It's not a problem in that it's a car we don't rely on for daily use, but it's a pain, and its DH's problem really not mine"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

No, exactly. Still it was fun though VERY wet - it's the one at Weston. I ran all the way though which I was really pleased about as I haven't been running for weeks. I'm used to running in the hills and this is very flat, so it was easy enough. Very sandy/muddy, very wet but fine. It was only when we were getting changed in the car afterwards we realised how wet we were, you don't really notice it so much when you're running.0 -

Oh dear, what a performance, that's so funny though I can see how it could be stressful as well.
And that reminds me, I need a new black ink cartridge for the printer, but I think I'll just stroll over to amazon for that.0 -

Well done! I guess one benefit about the wet over raging sunshine is that you don't get quite so hot."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

It is quite funny - the noise when the car backfired and the exhaust went was amazing - really was like a gunshot (I imagine...!)
It's the not starting again bit that is not so funny.
I'm pretty rubbish - I never think about ordering ink cartridges in advance, I always wait until I run out before I think about getting one. perhaps I should order one now from amazon, so I have a spare...."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Oooh, I bought a couple of items at a boot sale last week for £4. I only wanted one part of it, but the seller wanted to sell the lot together. I stuck the bit I didn't want on ebay and it's gone for £10.50 :T:j:T
I've still got the bit I wanted, and I've got all my money back plus some profit too, hurrah!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
