Glad you had a nice day though - how did you manage a sunny day, it was 'orrible here - in fact (whispers quietly) I put on the heating in the afternoon for a few hours.
We didn't yesterday, but the heating was on the other day for a bitI wasn't expecting it to be sunny though, so it was a nice surprise - South Devon coast.

Unfortunately yesterday the train actually left on time. I was hoping and praying it would be 5 minutes late but no such luck. By my watch it actually left a minute early!
The trains around here can be a nightmare. I was in Bristol and booked on the train to come back with a seat reservation and everything. Couldn't even get into the carriage to find the seat (which had already been taken by someone else). The southbound trains are nearly always like this, between Bristol and Bath and Taunton even outside of the main rush hour. You pay £20-odd for a ticket, yet don't get a seat and have to stand outside the toilet with a load of other people "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". a) get my business off the ground
b) learn loads of new IT skills to help with that
c) make all the arrangements for getting a new bathroom fitted
d) keep doing all the work on the garden
e) continue my involvement with the many village organisations I help out with
f) slowly but surely do up the house on a tiny budget
g) declutter and sell as much as possible to raise some cash
h) balance the budget all the time
i) do all the usual things that need to be done to run a house
j) support the kids with their exams (1 doing A-level, 1 doing GCSEs) and be their taxi-driver
all with no significant help from anyone else.
Sometimes I'd like to stop the clock, get on with stuff for a few hours, then start it again as if only one second had gone by. How cool would that be?
Though eventually I suppose I would end up looking a lot older than everyone else. :rotfl:
I know that feeling and can resonate with many of the things on your list.
I bet it will be nice to have a new bathroom though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

but i have had the heating on most days lately  i do feel the cold alot - think its a thyroid thing and cold house - hope it'll help when we get room plastered.
The seaside jwil :T:T:T pah! to missing the train but woo! to being home early
Very late going to bed - completing my MS report will have to wait until the morning
I feel the cold a lot as well. When the new patio doors are in, assuming we do not fill the room with crap again, the extension will be like a sun room - it gets it for most of the day. I can't wait to be able to sit in there and slowly roast all day"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Mmm, sounds lovely.
I feel the cold as well, especially my hands. I work on a computer all day and sometimes my fingers are stiff with the cold so I have to resort to some form of heating. I have all kinds of old jumpers and cardies that I wear around the house (but would never wear in public).0 -

The plastering should reduce draughts maybe? We rarely have the heating on once May comes in but sometimes you just have to do it. I had two chilly teenagers in the house as well.0 -
Must must must put some stuff on ebay!
If I come on tomorrow and haven't done so, then you have full permission to kick me!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Dh is very 'kindly' sorting me out a load of stuff to put on ebay
Not exactly what I had in mind, but it's all decluttering anyway.
The only problem is, I haven't started listing yet"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
