Well, you are doing very well as it is, so why not just keep plugging away and get the time down to as short as possible?

And you never know, something might come along that helps you pay everything off before you're 36, a surprise windfall, stranger things have happened. :)

That's the plan. I played with it again afterwards without the money I owe DH, and it was much better looking. Whilst I would like to pay DH off faster, he would like me to put more money towards my other debts so I don't need to snowball that one really.

I'm going to win the lottery anyway, so it's not a problem really :D It's true, you never know what's around the corner so you can only do the best you can.

I've mentioned before that I am selling bundles of clothes on ebay - they are children's clothes, pretty good stuff, going in bundles of 40-50 items.

My first few bundles, I got far less than I should have for them because I put them on a straightforward auction. The clothes bundle market on ebay is so crowded, it is hard to have an auction stand out and I clearly didn't attract enough people who wanted to complete for the goods.

This time around, I have put them up on Buy It Now only (or Best Offer). So far they have all sold for the BIN - so this is definitely the right tack to take for these bundles. Otherwise you sell them for next to nothing. I noticed several clothes auctions by other sellers where massive bundles of 80+ items went for less than a tenner - this is silly.

So just thought I'd mention that selling as BIN can fetch a better price and certainly works better where there are loads of other similar items for sale. Having a good layout helps as well of course, and decent photos.

I have at least 7 or 8 more bundles to put up - each should fetch between £40-£60 depending on the number of items, that's not bad. :)

Thanks for this, I've only ever sold a few items of clothing on ebay, and I have quite a bit to get rid of. I might have a go and just put it on a bundle. There's nothing overly special there otherwise I would list it separately, but a lot of it has hardly been worn. I've always figured it wouldn't get enough to make it worthwhile, but doing it as a BIN might make the difference!

    Hi Jwil,
I've been lurking on your thread for a while but just had to tell you how well I think you're doing. I think we're the same age and we also have a lot of debt to get rid of - saying that you'd like to be debt free by 35 really struck a chord with me, as that's something I'm aiming for too. I wish I had the energy to do car boot sales like you do or the patience to sell on Amazon, but I don't so I'll stick to eBay and freecycle to declutter and make some money. You've inspired me to start my own diary - keep going you're doing brilliantly and one day soon you'll have everything you want!

    Iris .x.

Hi White Iris, thanks for popping in! Feel free to delurk more often :) It would be fantastic to be DF by 35 so I shall keep plodding.

Ebay and freecycle are great ways to get rid of stuff. I like doing the boot sales as I like looking around so that softens it for me. Amazon is good as long as you are prepared to wait for a sale. At least with ebay you have a time limit.

Keep at it, and feel free to pop in anytime. I shall hunt out your diary later or pop a link in here when you've set it up. :)

 Got stuck in traffic and missed the train this morning  So I had to drive to the course today which is half a tank of fuel used that I can't claim back from work. I've never missed a train in my life!

On the positive side though it means I got back earlier so I'm not that bothered really. It was nice and sunny too, so lunch break on the beach was lovely!

I've never missed a train either but then I very rarely go on a train these days, no idea when the last time was.

Glad you had a nice day though - how did you manage a sunny day, it was 'orrible here - in fact (whispers quietly) I put on the heating in the afternoon for a few hours.

There is sooo much to do at the moment and no time to do it. I am trying to:
    a) get my business off the ground
    b) learn loads of new IT skills to help with that
    c) make all the arrangements for getting a new bathroom fitted
    d) keep doing all the work on the garden
    e) continue my involvement with the many village organisations I help out with
    f) slowly but surely do up the house on a tiny budget
    g) declutter and sell as much as possible to raise some cash
    h) balance the budget all the time
    i) do all the usual things that need to be done to run a house
    j) support the kids with their exams (1 doing A-level, 1 doing GCSEs) and be their taxi-driver

all with no significant help from anyone else.

Sometimes I'd like to stop the clock, get on with stuff for a few hours, then start it again as if only one second had gone by. How cool would that be?

Though eventually I suppose I would end up looking a lot older than everyone else. :rotfl:

 Where from?? I'm guessing it's probably not a supermarket one, because if it was, I could be debt free tomorrow! :p
