If the 'bunged up'-ness continues, hunt down the slimming world thread on here. There's a recipe for what is affectionately termed 'dyno-rod soup'. It's so named for a reason :rotfl:. It's actually really nice, but you need a HUGE pan to make it!
Thanks, took a while but I tracked it down using Google in the end. Looks good, I'm going to give it a go.
I am doing the Harcombe diet. It's kind of a mixture of Atkins and Food Combining but not so restrictive. Phase 1 is very restrictive but only lasts 5 days. Phase 2 introduces lots more foods back but you can't mix fats and carbohydrates. Great emphasis is placed on not eating processed foods, including white flour, sugar of any sort, and any other gunk.
I'm officially finished Phase 1 but have decided to stretch it out for another while. The first 3 days, the cravings for things like biscuits, chocolate and cakes were severe but I fended them off and now the cravings have gone.
What I like about it is there is no calorie counting, no low-fat nonsense, and no measuring of portions. The only food that is forbidden is junky processed food. The aim of the diet is to get your eating under control, to stop filling up on stuff when half the time you're not even hungry, you just launch yourself on a binge. This is familiar to me and I'd like to be more in control.
There is a Phase 3 for when you reach your natural weight - you can 'cheat' a fair bit during Phase 3, just keep things in control. Don't know if I'll stick to it but it's going well so far.0 -

I might take a look at the Harcombe diet. It sounds interesting and I definitely need to get my eating under control. Good luck with it and let us know how you get on!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I sold three books yesterday on amazon :j That's £13.02 to add to my total.
The funny thing was, two of them were copies of the same book! I wonder why there's suddenly been a rush on that book. They've both gone to the same county as well, so it seems that maybe it's been publicised over there or something."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well, that's another pound down today so that's 4lbs in 7 days, which is somewhat of a miracle for me. I have now decide to move onto Phase 2 because it means I can eat porridge with bananas for breakfast (I was getting sick of eggs, much as I love them).
Phase 2 is the real weight-loss phase, in Phase 1 you are battling your demons and losing mostly water really. It does seem easy to stick to but I'm not sure how I'm going to cope when really tested during the summer when we are out and about with friends and family. I'll keep you posted.0 -

Wow, that's brilliant, well done! :T:T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Yuck, I am feeling decidedly unmotivated today
I didn't sleep very well last night and have no energy.
Dh is working and I decided to get up at 6.30 to walk the dog before it got too warm. Stuck one load of washing in, and then went for a wander around a couple of boot sales, stopping at the farm shop on the way home.
After my extended hunt for my car insurance and MOT paperwork the other day, I had been thinking about getting one of those filing cabinet things with lots of thin drawers in them so I could separate and file paperwork as it comes in. I looked in Staples the other week and they were about £60 . Well I picked one up this morning for £5 :T
Have so far dragged it out of the car and left it lying around
Now I ought to be listing stuff on ebay as I decided not to sell at the car boot this afternoon.
I also want to make some 'sun dried tomatoes' out of a load of tomatoes I've got which are getting past their best.
I could be doing stuff in the garden, need to do some more washing, could do with sorting through some more stuff.
What I want to do is sit in the sun with a book :rotfl:
I have sold 3 books on amazon today, found two, but can't find the other one . Will have to hunt that one down now as well.
I'm getting off the computer now as I am just timewasting again.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

You've done pretty well so far, Jwil! Sometimes, sitting in the sun with a book is exactly the right thing to do. Mind you, our sun has just about disappeared now and the weather for tomorrow looks diabolical, so I will not be car booting as planned.
Still, lots else to be getting on with, as always!:)0 -
Hi Jwil
I agree with peaceandfreedom - hope you enjoyed some of this nice weather with a bookif you are sat in the garden and fancy a break then you can have a little potter with things that need doing and then go back to your book - all at your own pace but still getting things done :T
I also need to list on e-bay - need to find stuff to sell first though  part of this weekends tasks. Just having a break though  having made myself do quite a few jobs this morning i sat out in the garden with a magazine. I hadn't planned on gardening stuff this weekend but as i was out there i threw some bits of OH's rubbish out which all helps reallyi've also had a little walk with OH to the shop - sadly i did spend money there
- on lots of great priced fruit :j and i may have got a magazine for the lovely free bag which came with it

Well I didn't manage to get out in the garden with a book, though I was doing as you suggested DDFW - read a chapter, do something, then read another chapter. DH managed to finish early though so there was my productivity gone
I keep all of my books for sale in a couple of bookcases so I can look for them easily. Yesterday I went through the same bookcase over and over again looking for one of the books I'd sold and could not find it. On the 5th go though, there it was, sitting happily in the middle of the shelf . Need to get my eyes tested methinks. Anyway those sales yesterday total over £18 so very happy with that.
I've had a bargainous morning around the boot sales today. Bought far too many books(*cough* 19 *cough) of course. I did get one that is on my amazon wishlist though, so very pleased with that. Also, the other day when I sold two copies of the same book - it was one I needed to read. I posted one and was reading the other, but didn't have time to finish it before I posted it. I was a bit disappointed as I was really enjoying it. Anyway, found a copy of that this morning, so I get to finish it, and will then list it too :j:j
My best buy of the day was a bottle of body shop perfume and a boxed, opened but unused bottle of hugo boss perfume http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hugo-Boss-Purple-Women-Parfum/dp/B000P251ZC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307277480&sr=8-1 - both for £1!! :T:T I bought it from a bloke, I think his wife/girlfriend is going to be VERY annoyed when she finds out what he sold them for! :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
