the fact is: I could believe it if a friend is asking to pay for an item through paypal if they don't have an account but everybody can pay money into a bank acc just walking into a branch.
If the "friend" didn't have a ebay account the OP could just buy the item of ebay then send the friend to make the deposit at the branch for his own TV.
It looks very suspicious that somone would buy the TV (at THAT price) then even go to the bank and put his own money for a "friend" when he needs them shortly afterwards to pay rent...??
Also there are at least two keys on the keyboard with " . " (DOTS)... :rotfl:*_*_* Department of Redundancy Department *_*_*0 -

I could not find any sellers that it sold for £1920.
Here is a link from eBay for TV's in completed items for between £1800 & £2000.

You have to chase them anti clockwise around a hill then put a net in the way. As they have one leg shorter than the other they fall over if they try and turn around.:D Though I suppose I could run naked around a hill instead?
How many times do you have to run around the hill before you use the net?0 -
He has now made his feedback private and has no items for sale... doesn't look good OP.0

Looks like a scam, has all the scam hallmarks and feels like a scam...
If the police do get involved it is likely to take them several months to persue enqurieis and you are still not likely to get a refund.
At least with private feedback they can't sell any more.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I cannot find the 55 positive feedback you speak of its showing as private and when u click on that it says 4 feedback positive - I certainly would not have bought something so expensive from someone who keeps their feedback private or from someone who only has 4.0
