I thing the suggestion that you buzz him means that he'd welcome an initiative from you next time to show you're equally interested and because he,s also perhaps a little nervous too about not appearing too overwhelming or eager and getting the balance right. A suggestion for another fairly informal flexible outing will probably help consolidate things. What are his other interests? Any interesting National Trust properties near you which have any outdoor pursuits, exhibitions, fairs etc happening?

Thank you all for taking the time to reply!

hmm, will think about this. I have no idea about these things! I mean, how long do I leave it before I invite him to meet up? I feel like a bit of an idiot, as I am so inept at these things.

Anyway, he has texted me a few times today, just chit chat and amusing comments. He did say he enjoyed Thursday though, which was very sweet of him. Thanks for the suggestion Primrose, will have a thing about that. I know he rides horses, enjoys cooking and talked about missing out on the Magic Flute as he could not fine anyone who wanted to go.

Anway, apart from all of that, other things -- Mortgage!

    Money for Op's this week:

    quidco: 14.61
santander 123 credit card cashback: 6.81
    santander 123 current a/c interest; 12.57
    ebay 18.78

which gives a total of 52.77 -- not too shabby!

Worked on my todo list and managed to finish pwer wasshing both deckings, as well as cut lawn, and weed the back garden (not completely, but looking much better. Legs are now completely defuzzed too :)

Will make up a new list tomorrow, bit too tired to do it now.

If he likes horses and cooking maybe you could cook him a Shergar-burger?

    I'll get me coat ;).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

julliff, why not sign up to WhereCanWego.com? it's a free website that lists events and activities and you can choose to be notified of events within any number of miles of a chosen post code so you may possible get some ideas for a future date. You can also elect to have a weekly email alert sent to you of events in a certain radius. It will obviously only cover events which have been alerted to the website and is by no means comprehensive but you might find something of interest to give you a few ideas..

Is it okay to dust off this thread?

My MFW has been somewhat derailed by other things, and my finances have spiralled out of control. I hope I can still qualify as a MFW as the regular overpayments are still going in.

However, the focus I have at the moment is to bring my finances back under control. Which will be hard, as a lot of the things that are going on are to do with my two daughters, and their education.

Sooo, tomorrow will be day 1 of the new offensive. I am off shopping tomorrow followed by lunch, so it will be a softish start! No big purhcases planned though.

The big thing right now is a new car. I have taken a directors loan from my company to fund it (I doubt it will be brand new, but newer than the charabang I have now).

Focus and motivation, thats what I need!
