Okay, making some progress this afternoon:

    Cut grass
    Cut back shrub
    Take photos for ebay
    Wash floors after builders round
    Plant up hanging baskets
    Change sheets on beds
    Laundry
    Clear desk and file paperwork
    More lockup sorting!
    Book train tickets for Mum

Had a good result from the builder. He has given me a discount on the works done in exchange for the treadmill, which I wanted to sell anyway. :-)

Free listing weekend this weekend, so will put up a load of stuff tomorrow.

    Hello,

I have just popped in to say hello as the title of your diary caught my eye. Very intrigued by the breakfast 'rendevous'. When is it and if it has been how did it go?

Whatever happens I hope it is a pleasant experience and you enjoy it girl. Like some of the others who have posted on here I am a DFW but once clear of this - should be December 2015 I WILL be posting in MFW as I want to be a member of that club by the time I am 50. Eek only 9 years to go then....

Good luck and you seem to have done such a brilliant job since you started posting on here. TTFN x

    Hi,

    Thanks for your replies.

I did have a nice time at the breakfast meet up. We chatted loads about all sorts, but I made a complete idiot of myself, and told him a bit about my background. I so wish I hadn't. He asked a couple of questions, and some stuff just came tumbling out. I am now mortified!:embarasse

Anyway, he admitted that he got my number from another person at the club, which cleared up that little mystery. He seems very nice, but then, I am not a good judge of character. When I got home I started to feel sick and hyper-angsty. So, I threw myself into the jobs I needed to do. Even though I had a nice chatty time, I am not good at coping with attention from men. I am supposed to be canoeing tomorrow, but very nervous now. I am a hopeless case -- quite a mess. :(

Sometimes I think it would be nice to meet a special person, but my walls are so sky high, I will probably always be alone. Even a bloke I work with said "I can't imagine any bloke being brave enough to ask you for a date, with the walls you put up" (he didn't mean himself, he is very happily married, he was just speaking as a friend) -- sigh
So, back to MFW, much safer :)

Glad you enjoyed breakfast, maybe it'll turn out to be romance of the century or maybe he'll just be a good friend but just enjoy yourself.

    Hi

Well canoeing was good this morning. Saw chap, and he was still friendly so my kapok moment hopefully was not too bad. It was a big group today, which made things easier too. Like I say, he was probably just being friendly, and kind, as I am always on my own.

I know what you are saying Alchemilla, but if you knew the mess I seem to always end up in... all my own fault of course!

Anyway, enough of all that.. tonight, I have listed 5 things on ebay! yay!
Hats off to all you folk who list loads of things, I find it the most boring thing in the world, I am nearly gnawing my own arm off. So relieved it is done!

Been speaking to DD1 tonight, and we will probably be going on a summer holiday, so need to start putting money aside for that. We have to go to America, as DD1 will be studying there next year. The flights are hideoulsy expensive, but I think DD1 will get hers paid for by a travel grant.

Went to the garden centre with my Mum today, and as a result I am now going to make myself a little herb garden. Saw some really cute containers for this, so, I am going to plant it up with fresh herbs.
Vey excited about this :) I am also saving up my nectar points for one of those weeder thingies (I am put in mind of my own mother saving up her green shield stamps to get something from the catalogue -- now there is a blast from the past).

Will be off to town tomorrow to pick up new glasses. Will try to not spend anything. I really want to get back to OPing now.

Night night, I am cream crackered!

    Hi

Yes greent, you are absolutely right, always nice to have new friends.

Well, had a lovely surprise today. Mechanic came round to fit new timing belt and water pumo, and told me that the water pump has already been replaced, and so did not need that part done. Saved me £78! yay! He was a really nice man, and I would definitely use him again.

On a different subject, I am really cross that my hairdresser has not turned up. This was a new hairdresser, and she has not even texted to say she could not make it. I really wanted to get my hair trimmed this week, as I have a big birthday bash to go to at the weekend. Grrr..
I don't suppose it will happen now: kayaking tomorrow evening; guitar lesson and a meetup on Thursday, and Friday is my birthday, so I will probably go somewhere with DD2 for dinner. (My sister is having a big party, she likes all that sort of thing. I am less for fuss and attention :))

I already have two bids on one of my ebay items, and quite a few watchers on a couple of the others, so pleaseda bout that.

DD2 is due home in the next hour, am really looking forward to having her back. Need to talk to her about the proposed holiday, and then we can start planning it properly.

My mum did green shield stamps, and there were also pink stamps she used to save.
My dad saved coupons from Embassy cigarettes.

I'm thinking that I'm gradually turning into my parents - it's quite worrying really !:rotfl:
