haha! gallygirl. I think it's just a friend thing. We did have a hug at the end of the evening, but thats about it. And that is okay with me, as I can do friends. I think maybe he is glad to have a friend he can just meet up with, because as I well know, most people over 40 are in couples, so nice to not feel like the spare part sometimes. I like him, he is funny and sharp.

Hey Primrose, I think my airer looks more like a weeping willow now. :) -- I was going to insert a picture of it, so we could compare, but I cant work out how to upload it (how shameful for someone in IT!!). The base is in a raised block, whicj is screwed to the edge of the decking. Thanks for the tip, I will be very careful about size (!)

Anyway, powerwashed lower decking, garden chairs and back downstairs windows. Had enough of that now. I will finish tomorrow, and will do upper decking if I can get hold of a long extension cable. That will include the swing seat too. Have crossed it off my list, but really only half done.. is that cheating?

Hmm, raining hard now. Will have to concentrate on indoor tasks!

Well, quite pleased with todays progress, and as I did not leave the house, I had a rare NSD too! yay.

Just realised that my car tax is due this month, so thats another £225. Not such good news.

Been thinking about my 123 current account. I need to somehow logically seperated the balance into true current account/ money to cover 0% cc when they end/ savings. I suppose a spreadsheet will be best. It is a bit of a headache as I took a lump sum dividend from my business account, in order to maximise the interest. I need to carve it up and use it against a budget of some kind.

Made a huge faux pas today. I texted DD1 to say "Have booked hotel, and will see you Friday night. Lots of love xx"

only I did not text DD1, but actually texted canoe man! :embarasse
I did realise what I had done and texted to him again to explain. I really need to wear glasses when I text, and not just squint a bit!!!
It's gonna be a bit embarrassing at the next coaching session. He did text back after my explanation and said "lol. I thought I was getting an indecent proposal!"

Oh, got another £3 from Pinecone today too..

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I think that comes under the category 'Freudian Slip' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Still, good material for the best man's speech :D.

Well, haven't got much crossed off my list today, but thats because I spent most of today cleaning up my own bedroom, which quite honestly, could have given DD1 or any other teenager a run for their money.

So, now I have my lovely space back, and have had a major wardrobe sort out. I should put it on my list, so I can cross it off! hehe.

Listed three things on ebay yesterday for 5 day auctions, and have a bid on one already.

Last day to get my stuff done tomorrow, as I am going to Manchester on Friday to bring DD1 home. Will be visiting the Arndale, but have some vouchers etc (birthday pressies) so hopefully it will not take me too far off track. :)

:rotfl::rotfl: oops about the text you sent :rotfl::rotfl:

I haven't got a very modern mobile phone, and I always have to hold it really close when I text. But I haven't accidentally propositioned anyone....yet ! :rotfl:

    Enjoy your trip to Manchester

    haha, thanks greent and goldie

He must have taken it well, as he texted me yesteday to ask me if I had any plans for the day. I had to reply that I was having a family day, as DD1's first day home, and we had invited her Grandma over for dinner. After that we went to sisters to watch "gravity", which I thought was fab! I only hope canoe man does not think I was giving him the brush off.

All in all, things have been pretty manic. Went up to Manchester to get DD1, and spent a small fortune. Got a £60 pcn, which I am appealing (I asked DD2 to put on dash when we arrived, but she decided to put on while I was driving and ignore me, so it slid off, and I did not notice). Then on the way home, we ended up on the M6 toll road by mistake, and it cost me £4.80 to drive up the road and back! Then to top it all, the M5 was at a standstill, so decided to take M40/M42, which was then shut. We ended up driving on the Fosse Way which was awful for DD2, as the windy road makes her very sick. Still, we did get back in one piece, for which I am thanful.

On a brighter note, I got a cheque for £138 from CPP claim :). Added to that is £15 ebay sales & £6.84 quidco. I can't update my mortgage balance at the moment, as I have lost my security device for logging on. Will have to request a new one.

DD1 had been sorting out her clothes, and we ended up swapping some things, so its like new clothes, without the spend. yay!

Back to work tomorrow, not looking forward to that. did not get all of my jobs done. Upper decking still to be power washed as it rained today. Ditto, grass still needs cutting, and weeds sorting. So instead I cleaned to oven, renewed my car tax, and washed out some kitchen cupboards. :)

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

That texting thing is the kind of thing I would have done.
