Ho Goldie, thanks for the info. I chose the "gold" level, hope it works ok for me :-) -- I won't be wearing them full time, just when needed -- driving, reading etc... I may just stick to my supermarket readers in the office for computers, they seem to work ok.
Been working flat out on dining room/ lock up. Going to get a shower now as meeting friend later for a coffee. Thats my reward! haha

Had a lovely day yesterday. Had my Mum over for dinner. Afterwards DD1 and I took Mum home so we could see her new kitchen, amnd ended up staying a couple of hours doing a really hard jugsaw puzzle. It was just such a lovely relaxing time.
Anyway, this morning I decided to look through some old statements to see if I could work out how long I had my CCPP for, and in doing so, I was shocked to see that a couple of my credit cards in the past have had PPI!
So, I have now filled in a form for the NW one (good, I hate them), and will ring the MBNA line tomorrow. I know it won't be a fortune, but better in my pocket, eh?
Taking the cats to the vets today for their flea jabs. Not the cheapest option, but it lasts for 6 months, and it seems to be effective.
Need to make a new list.. but will do that later -- need to get sorted out to pick up DD2 from sleepover in a bit.
Have a good day everyone"Carpe Diem"

Took cats for flea jabs, and also got some spray for the house, that came to about £80.. but at least thats that for another six months.
I am working from home today, as I have the builder doing some work on my dining room. Its a bit noisy, and I'm not sure how much I will be getting done today! Talking of work, the subject of overtime came up, and becasue the time scales are so unrealistic for this project, it looks like some long days are on the cards. :(Still, at least they will pay us, and not make us work long days for the same "day rate".
DD1 went back to Uni yesterday, I miss her already. She will be back in a month though :-)
List for this today:
Book leg wax
Transfer money for builder from savings
Look into Santander Current account
Book Manchester hotel for DD1 homecoming
Organise Cam belt replacement"Carpe Diem"

Quite pleased with my progress, especially as it has been a chaotic (even more than usual) week. The builders were here for a couple of days, and the place looked like a bomb had gone off. I spent a good deal of yesterday on my hands and knees scrubbing the floor, and trying to get rid of the brick dust from every surface. Anyway, the really dirty work is about done now, so hopefully when they come back next week I won't need to do that again!
Went into town yesterday as I needed to get DD2s currency for her upcoming trip. Went to M&S as I can pay on my card, get some points, and they don't charge a cash advance feeWhile I was in town, I went to Sports Direct and gor myself a snazzy new waterproof jacket in pink for my kayaking. It was 50% off so a bit of a bargain! I went kayaking last week for the first time in ages, and I enjoyed it so, so much. I am definitely going to keep it up this year.
Also got myself a new clasp for my pearls, and will have a go at fixing them.
Right, have a new list of things to do..- Plant up hanging baskets (bought a load of plants from Aldi this week)
- Cut grass
- Take photos for ebay
- Continue clearing out lock up
- [STRIKE]Complete and return CPP form[/STRIKE] Had to do this twice. Old lecturers words "read the rubrik" came to mind. Doh!
- Clear our understairs
- Buy new rotary airer (hangs head in shame - still not done)
- [STRIKE]Make soup for week (Cauliflower cheese)[/STRIKE]
- Put stuff in loft that is currently in DD1s room
- [STRIKE]Ring hairdresser[/STRIKE] appointment for next week
I am not actively overpaying this month, as too many expenses. Looking to start again on 1/5/2014
Right, best get on, that looks like a long list to me. Oh, just remembered I am picking up DD2 from work this pm, and taking her to Sainsburys, so time is constrained a bit
Have a lovely Sunday everyone"Carpe Diem"

Julliff . You seem to be making good progress and it's good tha you are back into kayaking again. It's important to have an activity you can enjoy and look forward to to break up the monotony of daily routine, so well done and keep it up.
(Haven't got round to replacing our garden airer yet either! In true MSE style I am getting every last bit of use out of it before it finally falls into total disrepair beyond the point when even I can no longer "make do and mend" it :rotfl:)0 -
Hi Primrose,
Always lovely to hear from you
Yes, I have to say I keep letting that slip down the list because I have so many other things at the moment, I just think "Oh well, it might be on its last legs, and more lines vertical than horizontal, but the washing is still getting dried!"
The builders are back again, and it is wood dust now, as they fit the new doors and skirting boards. It is all starting to take shape though. Be glad when they have finished, as I hate being invaded.
Am getting the new timing belt and water pump fitted next Tuesday, and I managed to haggle my way to a £20 discount - it all helps though, He is a mobile nechaninc and will be here at the same time as my hairdresser! I'm sure it will be fine, but it just feels like the chaos never ends, hahaha
I got my elder sisters birthday present with the last of my gift certificate balance, but my younger sister wants money. She is having a big party, and I have decided not to buy a new frock for that, as I have some lovely frocks in the wardrobe, and will be glad of the chance to wear.
Right, better get on, I am working from home today, so must not get too distracted!!"Carpe Diem"

Well, I was hoping to make some inroads this evening, but things have not taken the expected course.
I got a text from a chap at the canoe club out of the blue, and after some exchanged he has asked me to meet him for breakfast tomorrow! Not sure what to think. In fact, I am trying not to think anything, as it makes me terrified. He probably just wants a friendly chat. Yes, that'll be it. He seems a friendly jolly sort.
Sorry, just needed to write that down.. not MFW at all. Eeek!!!
Right, going to read lots of other diaries, to keep my mind away from terror!"Carpe Diem"

hahaha! Thank you, that made me chuckle!
I don't think its a date, he probably just wants a friendly ear.
