The fruit is soaking in the tea as we speak. Why do I pick cakes that I can't eat for ages?
If I don't have time (can't be bothered to wait) I sometimes heat the fruit and whatever your soaking it in (tea) in a pan. Gently simmer for a while and they'll plump up much quicker.:happylove0 -

I might have a go at that next time, thanks! I do try to make a point of doing the first one "properly"!If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Mr B.E I have this recipe which is like a teabread but quicker
Quick Cup Cake
1 cup milk,
1 cup dried mixed fruit,
1 cup brown sugar
2 cups self raising flour
1 tsp mixed spice
Preheat oven gas 4. Measure all ingredients into large mixing bowl,
mix & put in greased 1lb loaf tin. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on rack
If you can wait that long lol. Serve sliced with or without butter. Yummy0 -

*I* don't have to know where it is. Nyer!
I can find it any time I wantThe question was for you
So are you getting the hang of the search now?
Edit:- Good grief! I know there is one somewhere - and no I wasn't referring to the clootie dumpling thread. And I can't blummin' well find it when I want! <sob> How about a new "Great Hunt"? The Great Hunt for the Microwave Dumplings with jam post

That sounds good, but there's no tea in it! I'm trying to recreate a Yorkshire Tea Loaf, with the fruit soaked in tea before it's cooked.
I might have a go at yours another day though! If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Close - but no cigar - that one's for a full suet pud.
I'll lay odds that it's in a dumpling thread somewhere and one person gave the bog standard suet dumpling recipe and then someone else did a post without quoting saying something like...
..and you can put them in a dish with a blob of jam on each and nuke them for 1.5 minutes.
So the "usual" search terms won't work to find the post because dumplings and microwave very probably aren't in that particular post. This means I'm stuck with searching every single post in every single thread that mentions dumplings.

And the first slice for Churchie's birthday:
I've only nibbled a bit that fell off while I was slicing it, so haven't had a proper taste yet. I'll report back tomorrow. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0
