I've only nibbled a bit that fell off while I was slicing it, so haven't had a proper taste yet. I'll report back tomorrow.
First class post should ensure I receive it in optimum condition;) Thanks:D :kisses3:

Hi Carolyn,
There's an earlier thread that you started on tea loaf recipes that might help so I've added your post to it. If it's not there let me know and I'll see if I can find it for you.

Hello all.....I've cut out the old booze for 2 months (needed a big detox!)-so usually have some sweet/carb cravings....trying not to buy lovely 'tesco finest' shortbreads & cookies & have been making my own 'tea' breads, malt loaf type breads (example here http://joshuahart.co.uk/2009/06/12/all-bran-loaf/comment-page-1/#comment-602 )...using SPLENDA instead of sugar & I've been using either wholegrain flour OR s/raising flour with a few tablespoons raw wheat bran added....+ some fruit!
As it takes up to 1 1/2hrs at say 150 in the oven I wondered if any of you good folk had any microwave versions? In my younger days I used to do a lot of microwave cooking & I know that loaves, etc can be cooked but don't brown (after all if a dark 'cake'' doesn't really matter)...it would be quicker & I'm sure save on my elecric bills! Any ideas for low fat malt loafy/tea loafy style breads? Or indeed how to convert conventional recipes? Thanks for any help in advance (!)0
