Does seem odd that all the supporters of this company seem to be first time posters.

Just in case you missed it the first time.

I agree! It stinks of trickery! It's bad enough you fell for it to start with, but walk away right now, PLEASE!! Think this through logically, you are the seller, they are the buyer (allegedly) so why are YOU paying? It's fishy, these fees are not normal and have been invented to capture your good nature when vulnerable. Accept the loss of £79, and leave it, walk away.

Can somone elaborate - I googled "has anyone heard of the property investment company" and this site appeared??????

I presume I am on about the same company here as you all .....

There is little on the web about them, which would stand to reason if they were a new company.

    iB1 - what are "shills"?

Please do post your experience and also explain why the IPG is a good option compared to traditional estate agents (ie why would any savvy property investor not buy via the estate agent)

Surely you can understand why anyone would be wary of a new start up company claiming to have a good track record in the business and suggesting fees from vendors up front would be treated with caution??

PS welcome to MSE and I hope we see you posting on a variety of posts rather than just this one

I too have been looking for info on this company - an offer has been made on my property. The fees are to be paid at the end of the deal, as per any normal exchange of contracts, which seems to be the crux of the problems here.

Who is your contract with, "Investment Property Group", "Invest P G Ltd" or "The Letting Agent Ltd"?

Their website does not comply with either the Companies Act or EU E-Commerce Regulations so it is difficult to know exactly who is behind the company - this on its own would be a red danger flag to many people.

In your contract is there any circumstance other than a successful sale in which the fee will be paid?

]]I have asked this a number of times, but so far none of the supporters have answered. I would love to know.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill
"Shill" can also be used pejoratively to describe a critic who appears either all-too-eager to heap glowing praise upon mediocre offerings, or who acts as an apologist for glaring flaws. In this sense, they would be an implicit "shill" for the industry at large, possibly because their income is tied to its prosperity
In online discussion media, satisfied consumers or "innocent" parties may express specific opinions in order to further the interests of an organization in which they have an interest, such as a commercial vendor or special interest group
