What's he going to be like if ever you became accidentally pregnant - "it's your own fault, and I don't want kids yet so get rid of it. It's your problem not mine so don't come running to me with tears ..."
Seriously, cold shouldering someone over an incident that is at least as much their mistake and shortsightedness as yours would have me asking questions about the maturity of the "other half".
I have to say you really don't know my other half, he'd never ever do anything like that to me, how do you get from over reaction about a broken laptop to making me terminate an unwanted pregnancy? Yes he's over reacted but he's not that bad.current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500 -
KME.
It doesn't matter what the cost is, you had an ACCIDENT, and your other half is behaving APPALLINGLY over this.
His over-reaction would make me worry a little about what is on the laptop. He seems to be looking for reasons NOT to take it in for repair.
Either he's worried about what other people might find on there, or he's a complete pr*tt who doesn't care about your feelings at all.
or bothI try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
How old is it? Did you check the warranty? Anything under 12 months will be fixed by Apple, normally no questions asked. Extended warranty will cover you for 3 years. After that a big friendly smile may do the trick. Rather than make assumptions about costs it may be useful if you provide more FACTS and then maybe we can be of more help.
I think it's over 12 months, and i don't think he has the extended warranty. i'm not making any assumptions, he believes it will be expensive to fix, but he's going to find out.current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500 -

Obviously you don't know him either... I thought you came here to post because you were surprised about his OTT reaction...
TBH I think I would have been upset on the outset as well, but now he is just making you feel guilty on purpose. He doesn't want the laptop repaired, he is dismissing any idea you come up with0 -

I very much doubt there's anything on there he wouldn't want me to see. I don't have a problem with !!!!!!, I know he's faithful, he shares pretty much everything with me anyway. I have no reason not to trust him. like i said i think it's an over reaction but that's him, he can be sensitive, and take things to heart. he's going to find out about repairing it, so we'll see what happens after that.current debt as at 10/01/11- £12500 -

He sounds a bit of a 'glass half-empty' (rather than 'glass half-full') type of person from what you say.
Although you've had some posters telling you what their repairs cost, he 'thinks' the cost of the parts will be quite high.
It's time (imho) for him to stop being a drama queen and stop trying to make you feel guilty about an accident that was partly his fault, but instead get his finger out and get an estimate for repair.0 -
WEll let's hope the Apple shop will look upon you kindly. When I dropped my iPhone down the loo they also fixed that for free, I have had nothing but fantastic customer service from the shop in The Trafford Centre, they are brilliant. Good luck to you.
Thanks, i've heard a lot of good things about apple customer service. lets hope they live up to their reputationcurrent debt as at 10/01/11- £12500
