I found a website offering override using 07 numbers that could be called from inclusive xnet mobile minutes.
However I can not find the site again - does anyone know of it?I think....0 -
We need a definitive answer on what Orange will charge to access a Telco.
Excellent thoughh the price checker thingy is, it becomes irrelevant if Orange are charging to access these numbers.
Let's establish the fact that 0800 is free on Orange, so which Telco's offer this as an access number? And is 0808 the same? And will Orange block or charge for a "known" Telco's 0800 number?
A bit of advice: you can sign up for Orange online bills and check afterwards when you make a call. If you are happy with the charge, continue with that Telco...0 -
https://www.call18866.co.uk is the best on Orange, and on a landline for that matter.
I'm still on everyday50 and the 0808 access number is free, and has not been barred in the 6 months I have been using it.
Its a shame they started charging for freephone numbers on the virgin tarrif with orange OVP. That was by far the best deal!0 -

Orange do not charge for access to either 0800 or 0800, both of which are freephone prefixes. This applies only to Orange customers who are on an Orange monthly tariff/plan. Pay As You Go customers are excluded as are those on OVP plans. However, I have noted postings where people have said that they are on an OVP tariff and not being charged for calling 0800/0808. This I find difficult to understand since to the best of my knowledge Orange are the only mobile network ever to have offered zero tariffing for calling 0800/0808 on a general basis. Other mobile networks allow free 0800/0808 calling to certain emergency/care type numbers, for example The AA, Samaritans etc.
If Orange realise that the 0800/0808 number you are dialling is being used for 'onward dialling', or as they call it, 'a calling card service', then they will tariff you at the standard call rate for that call. Usually when this is the case, and they relaise that you are 'onward dialling' they put a voiceover on the line which you hear when you have dialled the number. You then have to call your low cost provider and obtain a fresh 0800/0808 number from them, and all will be ok for a while again.0 -
Ontel have a Orange override 0800 number, every few weeks, Orange block it and you get the `This is a calling card service....`message.
Ring Onetel or check their website and you get the `New` 0800 number and away you go for another few weeks. This has been the case for at least the last couple of years.0 -
As a newbie enticed by the savings on landline calls I signed up with 18866 and 1899. Then I looked closer and am signing up with onetel for the international package for mobile overide. However I also registered my mob with 18866 and 1899 and the 0808 number seems to work with no message from Orange detailing whether it is being charged. I am Orange 120 does any one know whether this number is being charged outside my inclusive minutes or whether it is a free call. The nice voice at the end of the line with 18866 and or 1899 say I am only being charged .5 p per minute....sounds good? Additionally foolishly I signed up to one tel without reading all the details and it seems I shall be switching providers from BT to One Tel. Is this the case or will it just be international calls or other calls I make from my mobile for overide. Ii have received their welcome pack email which says a dialler is on the way. Finally I have some add ons with my BT account which I would like to keep Call Waiting etc will these be deleted when and if I transfer to One Tel. Help sorry to be a loon. Will look closer next time.0

They just send a gadget that re-routes your calls to onetel. You don't need to use it, and you can just dial their number before you make a call if you wish to use them. The best thing about one.tel is that if you signed up online they give you £20 worth of call credit (after a month or so!) for free ;D
I'm pretty sure BT is still your provider.
NB: It is credited after 20 days or so.0 -
Umer,
Thanks for that, it has set my mind at rest.0 -
Got my Orange bill the other day. Just to confirm, that the 18866.co.uk 0808 number was indeed free! Excellent for weekends when its 4p to all mobiles!0

Hi im getting a V4 LCR today (hopefully) and wanted to check a few things
Im on a TW line so will need to use the 8080 number, i plan to rout local + nat + mobile calls during the week to either 18866 / 18899, as their expensive on TW, but free on the week end
But does anyone know much TW charge for 0870 / 0845 numbers and how much 18899 charge for their calls to them for their freephone access number (18866 charge 4p/min and 9p/min + 1p connection)
Also what is the cheapest 118xxx number to call
many thanks
